<div class="quote_poster">Quoting InNETSweTrust:</div><div class="quote_post">That's exactly my point. Teams in the East would definitely sign him for big bucks.</div>

No other east team can offer him more than the Pistons apart from Atlanta, It's the teams from the west who can offer him big money but they likely won't do that. It's too risky to overpay him. Pistons can re-sign both no matter what the contract demands are.

The Pistons have made deals to accomodate resigning both Okur and Sheed, like Allnet said. Joe Dumars is always 2 or 3 moves ahead of the rest of the teams in the league and he has a clear understanding of how to manuver around the cap restrictions. Sheed has been embraced by the Piston fans and he has fit right in with the identity of the team. The only dilemma I see facing the Pistons is the Darko situation. It's not a bad dilemma to have, but can the Pistons find the minutes for him next season if their core players back?

Well yah but Memo's been griping about his PT. Plus we still have to see if Sheed can really make a difference in the playoffs where it really matters plus of course as Shapecity said, the Darko situation. They gave up Melo to get this guy.

Okur seems to of been dissapointed about his minutes but wants to be no where else.

Why wouldn't Sheed make a difference in the playoffs? He is playing in the eastern conference and unlike most times in his career won't be the lone fiqure to score. However I don't see how that matters when it comes to player contracts. Wether he does great or bad he will still have alot of value.

As for the Darko situation, he still won't be ready to produce for another year after next season. He would just take the minutes from Elden Campbell and we all know Rasheed can play the small forward spot effectively so I don't think that situation could be as bad as many think.

Really, so who would they get for him. I know he's not doing to well right now because he isn't a 100% right now and u can tell when jumps and even runs. But still, they can't win a Championship withoout him IMO. The really sad thing is that people forget in Sac that Chris is what turned this franchise around, and now that's he isn't back to full health and isn't performing well, their booing him and turning their backs on him.

Oh, and for those of you that think Kobe is staying, if you don't mind... i'd like to ask what makes you think so? Of course you are entitled to your opinion, i'm just curious.

The Lakers can offer him the most money, and the fans love him in L.A. Many of the teams that can offer him any money booed him when he came there to play, that has to effect something too. L.A. fans have supported him throughout the season and from what I've heard he loves California too. Though he has his troubles with Shaq, I'm sure he knows he won't be able to win nearly as many championships as he can with him than without. I see him being a Laker for life.

From what I've understood, it looks like Kobe wants to stay in LA......but probably not with the Lakers. I know it sounds strange, but I hear that he and Maggette are close friends. Why not, take a franchise who just wants to win something into the playoffs, where he would definately shine with Maggette. The Clippers have had chances to reach the playoffs, and just keeps letting them go IMO (McGinnes, Miles, Odom, Kandi). Look at those names and tell me why they couldn't make the playoffs? They were 1 year from it, and they dismantled the team each of the following years. Kobe, Maggette, Richardson, Brand ( I havent looked at the financial part yet ). He doesn't have to move the family and still plays in the same arena, Why Not I Say?
