The rest of the team should be able to run a train on his wife now.

Wasn't mad at Kaepernick when he did what he believes and I'm not mad at this guy.

Lots of comments by the righties calling this guy an anchor baby and crap like that.

Now the world is trying to hammer this dude into submission. Very sad.

I really do hope none of the Blazers feels it's their place to personally become a public distraction from what should be the team's one and only goal, winning the Championship this season.

Do you think players are distracted from the game if they kneel momentarily before the game?

How about after they are eliminated from playoff contention? Ok to take a knee then?

Selling jerseys is pointless, if you're putting it up against success in the league.

The last three players that sold jerseys for something other than their game, are no longer in the league. Their stories were great, but their success in the league was not.

    Colin Kaepernick? Gone.

    Michael Sam? Gone.

    Devon Still? Gone.

To be fair, Devon Still's jerseys were sold to help support cancer research for kids... which was amazing..... and the Bengals kept him around so he would have insurance for his daughter, but he's no longer in the league. Selling jerseys is great, but it's not the end all, be all.

Was he apologizing for a roster spot and paycheck? He should have said nothing and let his actions support his stand.

NBA has a rule that you have stand, so if it's something, it won't be kneeling

Probably not the end all. It more likely only means more fans support his comportment in regard to Anthem etiquette than his team mates or the league.

In a lot of cases the people who buy the jerseys aren't even football fans. They don't watch that player or that team. How many people bought Michael Sam jerseys because he was the first openly gay football player and had never watched a football game before, and haven't watched one since? It sure didn't help his career.

The player becomes a symbol for a political or social movement, and that's not always a good thing for their career.

I would not be surprised if many of these buyer are not fans either. Perhaps just Americans.

But that's my point. They're not really fans. I don't think he sees a dime of those sales, and in some cases this kind of attention can actually hurt someone's career. I just hate to see these guys hurt their careers over politics. Kaepernick deserves to still be in the league. He sold a lot of jerseys though, so I guess there's that...
