Everyone needs to stop playing doctor. Nobody even knows what the doctors are looking to do. If it's a hairline fracture that needed a CT scan to detect there usually is no reason to wire the jaw shut.
Agreed Mess. That is why my take is if we see him it will be a nice surprise. To me surgery on a Friday night does not equal being cleared to play a physical sport like hockey within 2, 4, 6 days. We'll see...
you mean to tell us we on this board don't know everything that's going on? HOW DARE YOU I am a bit puzzled by the news of surgery since he came back a couple shifts later and showed no effects of any injury and was even throwing his body around, but obviously the Dr's know what they're doing.
Better a broken jaw than a concussion, that was my first thought when he was down but still inexcusable that no call was made. Crap like this keeps hockey firmly in the 5th most popular sport slot, would be nice to see an announcement regarding a suspension of the officials on ice the way competent professional leagues like the NFL or MLB do things.
As much as I hate to say I really can't imagine any jaw surgery that could allow someone back in 2 to 4 days despite the miracles of modern medicines today and someones pain threshold. Figure Stepan out for rest of this series at least and hopefully can play sometime during the stanley cup final once we dispatch the canadians. It sucks big time but this is gonna be Millers time to step up big time and if this is the move I hope AV plays him with nash and kreider as his speed would be a good compliment here especially with kreider.
That's how I feel as well mel. Kid had jaw surgery, I don't think that equals playing 2 days later in the NHL playoffs. As for Miller, we'll see, but I'm not sure AV throws him in at C. Guess we'll find out.
