    Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will be named NBA Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive time, according to ESPN.

    The official announcement is set to be announced later this week.

    Curry helped the Warriors break the 1995-96 Bulls’ record of 72 wins in a regular season. The Warriors ended with a record of 73-9.

    Curry also shattered his own single-season NBA record for made 3-pointers with 402. 100 more than his previous record of 286 last season.

    This announcement comes as the Warriors take on the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference semifinals. The teams are in Portland to play Game 4 on Monday night and so far the Warriors have only lost once. The Warriors will return to Oakland to play Game 5 on Wednesday.
