Nash is overrated hes playing with 4 allstar players(in my opinion) on his team each capable of putting up 30ppg on any given night. Also as soon as Nash passes the ball to someone in the post they try to dunk right when they get it to get Nash an assist but with Marbury they wait a couple of seconds try to post up and eventually miss the hook shot that they seem so happy trying.Just face it Marbury IS the best point guard in the league and this is coming from the biggest Phoenix Suns fan you'll ever see trust me.
Marbury needs to learn to play defense, and not hold the ball so much before he can be considered the best PG in the league, which both won't happen. Nash isn't playing with 4 All-Stars, he's playing with 2 All-Stars [Marion and Amare], and 2 very good players in JJ and Q, he does have better players, and has always had better players, but also plays better by watching them. Marbury played with JJ, Marion and Amare last season too, but wasn't near as succesful. Also about Nash passing in and the person always trying to dunk, that's just stupid, the only guy that does that is Amare when he has position, and it's something any other player who could would do. That sounds like a comment someone would make from just watching the highlights. As for the Knicks post players, normally when someone holds the ball like that it's called running a post up for them, Kurt Thomas doesn't post up much, he catches and shoots the 12-15 foot baseline jumper. Sweetney is the only guy that really get's posted, and Nazr sometimes, but he isn't considered a scoring option. Marion doesn't catch the ball and turn and attempt a dunk. Marion's dunks aren't any more than they've been in previous seasons even. Marion averages 1.35 dunks a game, and is assisted on 68% of his made dunks which would mean their's 0.92 assists a game for the team on Marion's dunks. Joe Johnson doesn't even dunk, he get's a dunk every 5 games, and Q dunks once every 2 games. Nash averages 2.7 assists a game on dunks, Marbury averages 1.1 assists a game on dunks. So if we were to subtract that from their assists per 48 minutes, Nash - 12.3, Marbury - 9.4 New York makes 4.2 less shots a game than Phoenix, but Nash can't get all those assists, the Suns assist on 57.3% of their makes, so that's 2.4 of those shots, and Nash assists on 46.6% of their total assists, so he get's a 1.1 assists bonus due to his team taking and hitting more shots. Nash - 11.2 ------ Marbury - 9.4, advantage is still Nash. If Marbury would 1) Play defense; 2) Not hold the ball so much; 3) Look more to make his teammates better as opposed to just getting the assist numbers on the stat sheet, it would be a one man race with him and Kidd. It's just that those things can be said for a lot of PG's now.
You know what? I rethought my original opinion of this statemet. The media asked him the question and he feels that he was. Personally I don't think he is. I feel when Kidd gets healthy he will. Btw, I also rethought my original opinion of Steve Nash. Yes he is a great floor general however, look at what he has. An MVP candidate Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, a much improved Joe Johnson, and Quentin Richardson. Put Marbury back on the Suns, and I bet you they might be doing well too. Marbury is a career loser and I do think it is partly due to him but, I think it is also in part do to his team as well. Also would you expect him to say no? That really shows a lack of confidence. It's not like he went out and said I am the best PG in the league. He was asked, and he responded. Leave him alone. The media really has a way of gassing up small things. I guess that's their job right
Steve Nash is the best PG this season. Marbury is smoking too much of that green stuff. And Steve Francis one of the best PG's?? He's one of my favorite players and all but the guy dribbles the ball too damn much and gets selfish at times.
Sure you were right about the dunking thing but if you watch nearly all of the Suns games(NBA TV)then you know that ALOT of his assists come on fastbreaks dunks and spot up shooting while Marbury charges the lane and instead of his players getting close to the rim or anything they're acting like other soft players like Zydrunas Illgaustas(sorry if i misspelled it) and bricking or as i said before posting up and missing that oh so familiar hook shot.In my opinion Marbury is better and this is coming from one of the biggest Phoenix Suns fan you'll ever see. Also Marbury has played and won with Amare,Marion, and JJ remember when they got to the playoffs and nearly beat the Spurs?

He was always good but, now he is an MVP candidate, and before they acquired Q so, Nash has too many options to swing it out to. Put, Marbury or any other good PG in the Phoenix they would be putting up similar numbers.
