Before you know it, Stern is going to have a rule on how the players should wear their hair.

Can Stern actually make a rule shutting down NBA forums like shape said? That would suck ass.

Stern is quickly turning me away from the NBA. I prefer the NFL over the NBA by light years.

He's going to far with his powers, he's hungry for me. He's becoming the NBA's first dictator.

<div class="quote_poster">Pgballer17 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Stern's done some great things for the league, increasing its global popularity. I didnt mind the dress code, but I thought the new ball was stupid. None of the players had a problem with the old one, and if its not broken, dont fix it. This new rule is bull sh* t though. Just plain retarted.</div>
Actually I don't agree with you. The dress code and the new ball are two things I agree with David Stern. NBA players are playing for money to begin with, so to be professional, you need to, at least, dress like one. The NBA doesn't ask them too much on that. All they have to do is dress clean or look somewhat professional on gameday, team flight, or team event. As for the new ball, if you heard the story about it took 1 WHOLE cow just to produce 4 leather balls, then you'll understand why the NBA implements the new ball. In term of the environment and resource, it's clearly the right step in the right direction for the future. Even if the new ball has to do with business, it is only a small percentage profit the nba generates from this new ball.

As for the new video thingy, David Stern is going a little bit too far. However I understand his intention, this country valued copyright materials and for YouTube or Google making money off of these nba copyright videos, they violating the law. However if it's a fan-made video, David Stern has no right to stop them from doing it. Though the point is you can't share them on YouTube, but you can at least, share with other fan around the world through email, instant msg, or maybe forum. Ahhh I don't know, tough to say. I enjoy watching fan-made video clip, but rule is the rule. It is not like you can't watch video clip anymore, they did say you can watch it on nba.com. Beside I think the NBA has a partnership with google, so there you can also watch it on google. What I wonder is what about the video that come from the nba players' website itself that they upload for fan to watch. Are they stopping their players too? That is an interesting point that David Stern has to come out sooner or later.

Personally, I like David Stern, but recently he is somewhat or a Nazi, a tyrant, or better yet, I guess we have a new Adolf Hitler in the NBA for many years to come. gotta liv with it till the man is down [IMG]

Someone needs to stop Stern and his massive ego. He pretends to care about fans but all he cares about is the bottom line.

I don't mind there being a dress code but he's taking it too far now. Fans identify with players and the way they look, dress, etc. Stern wants to make everyone look the same. What's wrong with some individualism?

Right now, it's sweatbands, uniforms, dress codes, soon it will be hair, shoes....

Some fans dont even have cable or anything and they only rely on the internet to watch games of their favorite team. So now these fans can't even watch their team play? How bs'ing is that? This is drawing fans away from NBA.

Well, if you look at my post you can see it says I dont have a problem with the dress code. However, I see your point about the new ball. It seems pretty wasteful and inefficient to use 1 cow to make 4 balls.

that's a good point about all the cows being killed to make basketballs. My biggest problem isnt that it's a new material I just don't like how they stomped on tradition by changing the design when they just as easily could have used the old 8-panel design on the new balls. It seems trivial but why even change it. what was wrong with the old design?

This sucks, especially for people for people in countries which have limited NBA action. I thought the whole aim was to get the NBA to be know worldwide. How can this happen when there is only one website giving publicity. It's going to be hard for me to catch highlights of the Laker games.

Stern's wife must be controlling him at home, because he always wants to change something at work, like he is flexing his muscles on purpose.

    I hate this dude.

Another dumb move. By removing all other videos that you can see on other sites will limit people from all other countries or somebody that wants into the NBA from seeing what its like. Stupid Stern.

As far as I know, this hasn't been reported by ESPN or anything and the article was posted like a week ago. Are you sure the article's legit cause this would have been pretty big news on SI, ESPN, etc (I can't check I actually gotta go to work right now, but I question the site's credibility).

Stern is killing the NBA. From the dress codes to the youtube video policy. And is it true that Jermaine O'Neal got fined $5,000 for wearing his wristband on his elbow?
