FUCK that noise. Do you still use the term Welched? Gypped? If you do stop. If you don't WHY don't you?

    That's right. Out of respect.

    Now lets end the thread...

And don't forget the one that matters most

    LOOKS like a monkey...

    Get it now or not?

Now we know what Steven Adams said was not racist. We do know that calling a black person a monkey by saying we look like them is fucking racist.

    /FUCKING THREAD

I actually do use both of those terms. He welched on a bet. I feel like I got gypped.

I have also said hip, hip, hooray, which is an anti semetic term. I say rule of thumb, which is awful. Peanut gallery is a negative term. Like the others, certainly not what I mean by it.

I mean the word frog is an insult to French people. There is a damn Mexican restaurant chain called Gringo's. Taffy is an insult to someone from Wales. Don't say that word.

My point is, at some point there will be no words that anyone will be able to say for fear of insulting someone.

Those words were created to be racist and insulting... Then ignorant people made them part of our normal vernacular. We're simply taking out words that should never have been put in... There is no loss...

Hah, keep telling yourself that. It's already happening. You're against illegal immigration = you're a racist. You don't like transgender bathrooms or people = you're a bigot.

Participation trophies so people don't feel "bad".

    list goes on and on.

Eventually, there will be no other opinion than the one that makes you feel all nice and cozy.

It's being bigoted because the automatic assumption that someone who's transgender is going to be touching your child. When:

    A. You know fucking well you're not going to have your child in the bathroom by themselves.

    B. No one is trying to keep Catholic priests out of the fucking bathroom... No one's trying to keep sex offenders out of the bathroom...

So yeah it's being a fucking bigot by assuming that since someone is transgender that they are a predator when the real predators are the Duggar family kid, Jerry Sandusky, Jared from Subway, and mother fucking Dennis hastert. All nasty looking white males.

dviss is of course 100% correct. If a word offends someone we shouldn't use it. The problem is words offend different people, and sometimes for reasons other people don't understand.

My son got in a fight yesterday at school because someone told a cancer joke. It's an amusing joke, but my son said hey, not cool. Don't joke about cancer. The guy, not knowing that my son has dealt with my crap, told him to go fuck himself, and he'd say what he wants. Said something else and boom, fight was on.

A couple of years ago, my son probably wouldn't have raised an eyebrow to the joke, or may have chuckled. When does it stop?

Don't act like the cancer joking kid didn't need his ass whooped! :dunno:

Edit: did your son get in trouble with you? My general rule with my boy is "don't go out starting fights, but if someone tries to assault you, you must defend yourself." I probably would have given my son some sort of punishment since the physical violence would have been started by him.

This is an honest question because I really don't know, but take the word colored. I know it's not a term that should be used, but was it truly used initially as a negative term for black people, or was it simply someone saying that guy is colored because the majority of others "weren't"?

He did after he told the second joke when someone asked him to stop. My point was that had he stopped after the first joke, and someone had gone to the office and told on him, he'd be in after school suspension. And that is wrong

Thank you for your opinion on the matter. But, you talk in absolutes, which you can not prove, nor will you ever..

Catholic Priests and (most) sex offenders are males. Them going into the Woman's bathroom is already a no-no. That's apples to oranges compared to what I wrote. Unless of course the sex offender happens to be a man, dressed as a woman going in there? At that point it would be okay w/you ya?

Fuck all that. Those people are sick in the head. Use the bathroom for which you are born for, unless of course there is a single bathroom and you can lock the door. (and that is my opinion).

Meh, I disagree. Words are just words. Only given power when someone gets offended. Your son could have simply walked away and ignored it.

Of course I know kids and how that's not going to happen. But as adults it can.

But making a big fucking hoopla about all these potential offending words and putting them on a ban list for Americans? Nope... will not approve that. Be kind to your fellow man, but there is no way I advocate this PC police bullshit going on.

Yes, my son got in trouble because he started the fight. You have to walk away, no matter how much the other guy needs his ass kicked. I've said in a few threads now, that all my kids are in Krav Maga, so they can hurt people. He has to be the bigger person. In this case, he wasn't, and got grounded for it.

When Adams used the word 'Monkeys', it was a descriptive word of the players actions, not of their appearance.

Plenty of kids have been described as 'running around like little monkeys'; no matter what their color.

Steven Adams did not make a racist remark; typically it's the PC crowd/society trying to get all up in arms over the next thing they can be outraged over.

Cool. And I don't give a shit. So what if I am opinionated towards transgenders. I think its disgusting that someone would cut them, or take pills to, transform their body into something they will never be biologically; I also believe that these people, the majority of them are sick mentally.

If that makes me bigoted and you unable to talk to me, big fucking deal. Being bigoted about something doesn't make you an evil person. It just makes me intolerant towards that. So that's how I roll.

Edit: And because I am intolerant of them, it doesn't mean I heckle them, or shame them publicly, or call them out to their face, etc.

It just means I do not support their personal/political agendas. I speak out against it and what they do to others and themselves.

Yeah, exactly. Like I said above. If you don't fall in line, you are labeled.

Yup that's how you roll. Bigoted and intolerant.

Funny how you want government out of our lives but certainly want to use government to govern the lives of others...

    Live and let live.
