Can't run a fast break worth a damn, can't create either, but will for sure kill you if he's wide open at the 3-point line. Hard-nosed guy that won't take any crap, and he's an OK defender.

His best talent is mind control over the coaching staff, who will play him over more talented alternatives. Prepare for Kobe to be benched to make room for Blake to start.

Let's not insult Blake here. He's a very steady player, much better shooter from three, and (even though you guys like to dog his passing skills) a decent assist man. His vision is definitely not the best, and he doesn't like taking chances, but he's not a bad player. I think he'll do very well in the triangle.

Good stand-still shooter, not good at shooting off the dribble or off a cut. Court vision is below average for a point guard, IMO. He can make the routine passes, but not unexpected ones that catch the defense off-guard.

That's actually all I need to know. He should be able to get open a lot in the Triangle. Hopefully he can knock down the 3 ball for us! I'm excited about this.

And there is no way Farmar is as good as Blake. Just no way.

Great outside shooter ... ummm, other than that? He can't get into the lane, doesn't draw fouls and isn't much of a defender, but he is a pass first kind of guy

He was only 2% better from 3, and Farmar had a better overall FG%.

He shot, and made, more three's. He's also a career 40% shooter while Farmer is a career 36% shooter. That's a pretty significant difference.

Farmar and Blake have very similar TS%...Farmar shoots a bit better from two-point range, but Blake's greater number of threes makes up for that. Blake has a much better Assist Rate, though.

Farmar also has a higher usage rate, a lower TO%, and a higher rebound rate. Basically, Farmar's more 2 than 1 when compared to Blake.

Well I was comparing them last year, not their career's.

Also, we all know McMillan played Blake too much and know he should have never been named the starter. He was actually pretty bad for the Blazers last year, and a good run for the Clippers helped his %'s greatly.

If he plays like 2008-2009 Blake, he's good. Last year for the Blazers, ehhhhhhhhhhh. Wasn't sad to see him go.

Yup, they're similar caliber guards, Blake is just more of a traditional point guard. Not that Jackson has ever really worried about having a traditional point guard. Maybe they just like Blake's defense better...I don't know what Farmar is like defensively.

He is to me as Nikita Khrushchev was to The Central Committee after 1964--a non-person.

They're the Lakers. Since when do they ever overpay for free agents?
