Do you want me to post in article where Coach Mitchell says that he is the best defender on our team? You dont know sh*t about the Raptors, so dont assume anything.</div>haha I don't know sh*t. this is coming from the person that said Kendrick Perkins wouldn't be able to average 5 rpg's this year, even tho he got about 6 in minimal time last year. I'm not just assuming anything. When the raps played the Cs the other day, Paul Pierce scored 19 points in the first quarter against Parker.

Anthony Parker is the best defender on our team. We've already seen in pre-season that both of those guys can defend..Yeah, and in training camp do you think he was guarding Kris Humphries all the time? No. Obviously Sam Mitchell has seen that he can play defense.</div> Chris Bosh has said he's working on his defense and that it's a priority...thats nice to say but until I see results I'm not changing my opinion.

Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction The Knicks are just as selfish, relying on the perimeter game as they were last year. Did I mention they are composed of selfish streaky shooters? Did I also mention they are under way too much pressure there? Yeah, there's no way the Knicks get 2nd

Try Theo Ratliff, Kendrick Perkins, Tony Allen, Rajon Rondo, Delonte West. Rajon Rondo is already a better defender than anyone on the raps. And Pierce isn't bad at defense, he's decent.just so you know, C Webb is an absolutely horrible, horrible defender. Iguodala is a much better defender, and Dalembert is a good shotblocker.</div>look dogma, Rondo has not yet proven himself to anyone, at best hes shut down teams that werent even trying, im not banging the guy, but he doesn't deserve to be called better defensively than the whole raptors team at any dayalso wen u said pierce scored 19 on parker, y compare a rookie in the nba to one of the nba's top scorers? this guy is a rookie and still is needed to show his rookie talent, ive always respected your opinions too dogma, I know your goin to go nuts on me for saying this, but dont be a cocky celtics fan from day 1.umm sry about that typowhut I meant to say is that c webb is probably the only defensive presence on that team, igoudala has not wut u call "shut down" other guards or forwards his size, they blow past him, dalembert does average close to 5 blocks a game, but seriously is that the onyl way hes gonna stop points in the paint? I dont think so

That shouldn't happen. rookie or not, superstar or not. And besides, cb4 was referring to Parker as a lockdown defender, and a lockdown defender wouldn't get 19 scored on him in 9 minutes.haha, I didn't go nuts at all. I simply stated my opinion. being a cocky celtics fan? haha I wsn't being cocky at all.umm, that clearly wasn't a typo, because CHRIS WEBBER IS A HORRIBLE DEFENDER. Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction dogma like bcb said, we dont wanna know if they're proven in international or even college play, just the NBA, its the same differance, I think we should all wait anyways

And don't tell me that Parker "wasn't trying". Now I understand he's not a horrible defender, but he's not a lockdown deender by any means.
Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction If Nitro doesn't make a debate for this in the Debates thread I'll kill myself
Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction If Anthony Parker is such a damn good defender what the hell has he been doing playing for Maccabi the last few years?
Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction thankyou BCB. When players play in Europe, it is because they cant hack it in the NBA. Parker has been guarding slow players that he is more athletic than. When he comes to the league, he will be playing against more athletically gifted athletes and he will find himself overwelmed. I just think its funny how CB4 is calling him their teams best defender and he hasnt even played in an NBA game since God knows how long. That doesn't sound to good for the raps.

Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction umm.. I'm not the only one. other posters, league executives and scouts all say that he is an excellent defender. Go make fun of those two league executives that called Rondo the steal of the draft.

He said he was athletic and intelligent etc, but no mention of him being the best on the team. There is a point that should be made on this defenders debate....If the league as a whole, or big time executives acknowledge a player as a great or lockdown defender, like they do for Rondo, it is going to be taken with higher weight. If local media, and the coach of the team call him a good defender, that is completely different. When you have people outside the Celtics orgaization and media already talking about this kid coming out of college that is something special. I am not calling Parker a bad defender, but don't tell me he can shut down NBA shooting guards just because Raptors media and his coach say he "can". If the league or national media was recognizing him as a lockdown defender it would be a different story, but they haven't/aren't.
Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction very good point PF. I completely agree. you said what I wanted to say but couldn't.

Re: Steve Kerr's Atlantic Prediction The point he's making is that he's praised by his own team, and won't be proven to anyone else until he has a chance to prove how good his D is though. Until then...
