Fine. Then what was the band Sleater Kinney named after?

Ok, so the color commentator is KingAlbertoJrSpeed, but I draw a blank on the sideline reporter.

I think you meant Carrie Brownstein. At least I hope you did. The band she is most well known for is Sleater-Kinney. I saw her and the other two members of Sleater-Kinney perform together for the first time in 10 years on 11/29/2013 at the Rose Garden. They joined Pearl Jam for their final encore - Neil Young's Rocking in the Free World. Which bizarrely started playing on KINK right as I started typing this response.

P.S. She's a better guitarist than Dave Navarro.

P.S.S. They were also joined by Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey of R.E.M.

P.S.S.S. It was a hell of an encore.

I meant Carrie Underwood, seeing if I could throw anyone off cause I assumed anyone in Portland should know who she really is. :)

You and @Eastoff saw right through me.

SO what is Sleater Kinney named after?

Nice concert moment too!! I saw SK once at either a lollalapooza or rockfest up in the puget sound many many moons ago.

It's a major street in Olympia near the Evergreen College. I think of the band every time I drive past the Sleater-Kinney exit on I-5 heading up to Seattle.

BTW, I have the gig poster from that concert hanging on the wall beside me while I type this. It's the coolest gig poster ever. My son also has one hanging in his bedroom at his mom's house.

Looks way better in person. Has a cool 3D look to it.

Yep. You win all the prizes sharing first prize with Eastoff. The prize is....My commendation!! Its valuable!!! you can trade for almost anything in fantasy land! ;)

That is an awesome poster. Looks familiar though. I'm thinking it might also be the cover to one of PJ's albums. I have most of them, so I will check tonight.

Gonna miss Mike and Mike man. I am 24 so I grew up listening to these guys and yeah they weren't the best or most professional or whatever but shit they were homers and an important core to the team honestly. I would rather have them return but I mean oh well. Colabro is great now they gotta hit another one out of the park with the color commentator. If you are gonna replace mike and mike, better come with the fire on both commentators to kinda make up for it

Not an album cover. It was a commissioned work just for that show. It was by the artist EmekX. He does a lot of gig posters and album cover art.

This particular poster was his interpretation of the Doomsday Clock.

"The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic clock face, representing a countdown, maintained since the dawn of the atomic age. The closer the Clock is to midnight, scientists believe the closer the world is to global disaster. The most recent officially announced setting is 5 minutes to midnight (11:55pm).

On the clock hand, if you look closely, there is a Lightning Bolt at the tip, in reference to the title of Pearl Jam's new album, called "Lightning Bolt" On the back of the poster are written a bunch of PJ lyrics arranged to look like a crazy Unibomber manifesto. There is also a reference to a quote by Henry David Thoreau, and that's why the proverbial third eye of the poster is bolted shut."

I had an art show a couple of years back with Emek. Of course, there were about 30 of his pieces and about 6 of mine. But it was still cool.
