Disney execs moan about voluntary 5-20 percent pay cuts to their six-figure salaries after company's lower-paid 'non-essential' staff are told they're being placed on furlough
    • Disney announced Monday that executives would be taking a five to 20 percent 'temporary' paycut amid the coronavirus pandemic
    • Execs are pushing back despite their six-figure salaries as there is no end date
    • They claim it is not 100 percent voluntary as not signing could affect their future in the company
    • CEO Bob Chapek and Chairperson Bob Iger have offered to take cuts also
    • Yet execs believe they did not go far enough
    • The company has been hit hard by park closures and movie release delays
    • 'Non-essential' workers were told they are being furloughed Thursday

    Fuck Disney.

I'd really hate them if it were entirely their fault but people pay them ungodly sums for their amusement park.

The Clark County fair was better for 5 percent of the cost.

I think he answered that when he gave the customers part of the blame because they pay so much money to attend what is the company to do, not take the money?
So, the park puts out a service that is seriously overpriced but the paying public is to blame for supporting the operation by accepting the ticket and concession prices.

A local first generation immigrant woman I saw on the news yesterday. She is stocking one of her empty rental houses with food and letting hospital employees stay there so they don't expose their families to the virus. Was tearing up watching.

Greed makes me feel hatred for people. Disney is a disgusting greedy corporation.

So yeah it seems like I hate everyone. People are sick. They bitch about corporations and then give them their money.

I don't if I can help it in any way.

Right now I hate my government.

My wife has to file for unemployment. Sisolak waived the job search requirements. They send you a paper telling you to skip filling out your job searches. Ok..fine.

The next page asks you questions about did you search for work. I want to click NO because you don't have to. My wife says to click YES.

I am absolutely correct that she should put no because that is the truth. She is probably right that they want you to click yes. IF I click no will they delay her benefits??????

    THANKS FOR THE CLARIFICATION ASSHOLES.

I tried to fill out online forms for my brother-in-law and his wife who own a small business. They aren't eligible for unemployment but they are eligible for the $600 relief payments but you've gotta fill out this long long ass form to see if you qualify for unemployment in order to get the $600 relief payment. They ask all kinds of stupid questions including your age, sex and ethnicity. Then they ask for the name of the last company you worked for. For them it was an obscure company in New Orleans 11 years ago. Now, they want to know the address of the company, it's phone number and the name of the supervisor. They have none of this information and don't even know if the company is still in existence. The form won't accept 'Unknown' so I had to make up shit. I was so tired after doing two of those that I couldn't do anything else. Should have had a stiff high ball or at least a beer, dammit.
I think I got the wife's form filled out right but I'm equally certain that I fucked up my brother-in-law's form. They'll probably respond by wondering about a couple of my answers. I mean that's what should happen, isn't it? Look, I've got two college degrees and I found the forms thoroughly confusing. What do people with a GED or even less, do when faced with such nightmare forms? My brother-in-law and his wife speak broken English so without me they would have been fucked.
I remember when trying to fill out health insurance claims for my wife's company, Aetna, which were never ever totally correct, even the corrections contained errors, and thinking what do people without paperwork do to get their insurance claims approved? I suspect that a lot of poorer folk paid for insurance that they never really got.
Okay, I'll get off my soap box.

    Oh
We can afford to wait for a delayed payment but my wife is worried that her employees that she is helping will make a mistake and get a delay.

From what I've learned today you need to answer yes you have looked for work or the 20 year old system will delay your payments.

I can't for the life of my understand why they couldn't see the problem and clarified it before they sent out the paper.

How many paycheck to paycheck Nevadans are going to have to wait for their money?

I've already watched lines of nice new cars waiting to get free food. Saw that on the news, there was only one old Focus in the line. Lots of new hemi Chargers.

But what I do know is that in this country, all the entrepreneurs that you referred to, all the capitalists that exist here ... there is no better country.

I figured enough to say 'yes' I've been looking for work even though it didn't apply. Sometimes, you have to do these things to avoid the SNAFUs.

You should be happy you aren't in NY. Apparently (according to something I just watched) in NY you have to have a phone call with them to complete the application. And as you might guess, they don't have enough staff to answer the phone any more. They interviewed some woman who had called them 50x/day for 2 weeks, never got through.
