It's clear the "Vulcans" are waiting to make a decision until after the playoffs. If you want to wager about that then I win. If you want to wager about if Stotts will be back I don't know yet, not enough information to make a wager. If the Blazers make it to the 2nd round or lose in a hard fought close 6 or 7 game series I think he'll be back and deservedly so.

But if the Blazers are swept or only win one game I think the Blazers have to look long and hard if Stotts is the coach to get us to a championship.

I kind of agree with Mr. G. They won't fire him if they get swept. They will pick up his option and see how it plays out next year. I'm not sure I would support a firing if they get swept.

I would be a lil more pessimistic if his front office wasn't as strong as it is. I believe Olshey is in total control of what is going on.

Personally I like all this stuff to be handled in the off season. Don't let any of it become a distraction this season. I believe Stotts will have his contract for next year picked up regardless if we win or lose but I think if he gets us out of the first round he will get a very nice and lucrative extension. There really is no reason to pick it up right now and if Stotts is insecure about his job status with a 54 win season, having a season that set multiple franchise records and having the whole locker room behind him then he needs to see a shrink.

I agree with all of this. There is very little chance the option doesn't get picked up. But there's absolutely no reason for the organization to talk about it at this time. Focus on the games, and when the season is over you conduct exit interviews and discuss what to do moving forward.
