<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rok @ May 15 2007, 04:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I think it's good they got suspended because if they didn't, then NBA just shows they have a double standard(which they do!)NBA really needs to fix their rules imo regarding suspensions. I see this and I see Benga's last year. And it's like what the F*ck! He got 6 games for going into the stands, and did nothing but help the situation in a suit. Here, we see 1 game for leaving the bench. Jason Richardson was involved in a fan situation during the Dallas series. That got what? 0 games. Also, Richardson's hard foul on Okur warrants no review under the NBA but Stackhouse's foul on Shaq last year does?I bet there's plenty of those from the other teams, but those are the ones that stand out as I'm a Mavs fan.The actual suspension should be on Horry only. But because of the situation the NBA has put themselves with the rulebook and other suspensions, they had to hand out suspensions to Amare and Diaw. Sad and needs a fix.</div>No, it's not good because it supports thuggish play. It shows the more cheap shots you take the better chance you have to win.

Good effort though...he's a good man.
Ugh this is bad. I don't agree with this at all because if you're gonna suspend certain players you should suspend everybody. If not then just leave it alone. The physicality of this series is what was making it good. Now because of this they're gonna play like girls.
I dont agree with the rule that if you leave your bench when your not suppossed to and go on the court, that you get a suspension, but it is a rule....And notice how none of the Spurs players went on the floor....Horry definitely deserved the 2 game suspension IMO, and you HAVE to suspend the other two....If you dont, then you are showing favortism and you are showing that just because its a bigger situation, you can bend the rules....And Stern and whoever else made this decision couldnt bend the rules...Its that simple.

Horry got suspended like he deserved....Amare and Boris didnt have to come on to the court. Its their damn fault they dont obey the rules...You didnt see any Spurs players go on the floor did you? You have no point to make. Sorry...
The f*cking NBA ruined the Knicks-heat series back in...1997 I believe? due to this gayass rule. Amare and Diaw walked like...what 15 feet? then they stopped. I know Diaw stopped on his own power, not sure if Amare needed to be jumped on before stopping...but still..If they got in Horry's face, you could def. make a case for a suspension...and then if htey threw a punch forget about it,...but come on they were still 10-15 feet away from the whole scrum after horry body checked into nash..
It supports it because that hit on Nash may win the series and Bowen was not suspended for doing much worse than going to check to see if a teammate is okay. And they are showing favoritism by not suspending Duncan and Bowen for doing the same thing the previous game, oh but it wasn't an "altercation"....whatever, Diaw went back to the bench right when the shoving match started.

If they overlook it like they have with certain others, it's just a merry go round of bullsh**. This got more exposure with the players involved, so suspensions were thrown. But like I said, it needs to be changed and set forth with no favoritism or look the other way with certain players.I pointed out Mavs instances and we saw in the Jazz/Warriors series. I honestly don't get their policy. Ex. Reggie Evans grabs a guys balls, no suspension. Terry throws a punch towards the balls, 1 game. The only reason I think it's good is because they aren't looking the other way and making due on their rules.
Like when they looked the other way when Duncan and Bowen went off the bench?Pretty much San Antonio was awarded because Horry threw and elbow, but the Suns weren't awarded because James Jones didn't throw a punch at Elson when Duncan and Bowen were on the floor. It pisses me off, but just gets me more excited for tomorrow. Hopefully the Suns fans make their presence felt.

It's just more fuel for the fire. The Suns will win this series still. They can't beat SA at home and on the road, they know that now. With regards to the suspension, it is bullsit. They can say they were following the letter of the law, yet didn't suspend Duncan and Bowen. The fact is that Amare and Diaw never got involved in anything.Hopefully the Suns fans will be huge tonight and help Barbosa, Jones & Bell find their scoring streaks.I can only imagine how psyched Amare will be for game 6!
I thought David Stern cared about ticket sales? I thoght he cared about the playoffs being as excitng as they possibly can to keep the NBA Popular. Why the hell would he suspend top players like that for some sh!t like that in the playoffs? That just messes the whole series up. Yes im in favor of San Antonio winning but I don't want PHX or anybody else to lose in that way. This is unbelievable.
The real question is, why would the trollman stern look the other way on bowen kneeing nash and baron davis and then suddenly decide to suspend amare and diaw for this? I think assaulting a player like Bow-out and BD did is a little worse than getting off the bench and then getting pulled back, yet stern does the opposite of what he should. This is a NBA leadership that makes no sense and are just stupid.
All I have to say is, Robert Horry is a genius for doing this. I could imagine the team thinking this whole thing out, Pop sitting in his evil desk chair, "Robert, you knock down Steve Nash and see how many Suns come off the bench and get suspended, take one for the team."
Horry: But coach when am I going to get to make some game winning 3's again? Coach Pop: Sorry Rob im afraid those days are behind you....Horry: No they aren't I can still do it. Follow me coach.....Horry and Greg pop go out to the floor and somebody sets a clock to 3 seconds. The coach inbounds the ball the Horry and he puts it up and it goes in and out.Horry has a embarrased look on his face as he turns and looks at the coach only to see him walking off the floor.
<span style="font-family:Arial">I don't see Phoenix winning this game without Amare Stoudemire. He is the only inside scoring presence they have on their entire roster. If they lose this game at home, I don't see them winning game 6 in San Antonio. I hope I'm wrong about this, I want to see Phoenix in the NBA finals as much as most people.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y39nRO5keRMDuncan was clearly on the basketball court during the time. Whether or not he was checking on his teammate or not is debatable.</span>
David Stern was on ESPN radio and he said he and his people went over it and there was nothing to warrant a suspension for Tim Duncan. It's clear the Spurs players just got up when their teammate went down, walked a couple feet onto the court to get a look, and then walked back and sat down, they didn't leave the bench to go to the incident, and thats pretty much what the rule is trying to prevent.
There has been SO much sh*t that the refs and Stern have turned their back on in this series...Duncan on court, Bowen's antics, Ginobli's antics, etc... I feel it was a deserved suspension, but either those other things should have been looked at more seriously or the suspensions come into effect at the start of the regular season. This could ruin the series.

The original foul committed by Robert Horry did not by itself incite an altercation, at that point Diaw and Amare immediately got up and started walking towards Nash. The foul on Nash is no different than the Elson-Jones incident of the 2nd quarter it wasn't until Bell & Horry starting going at it that it escalated into an "altercation" and by that time Diaw was already back in the "immediate vicinity of their bench" and Amare was being led back to the bench. So if Amare & Diaw are suspended because the league feels the Horry foul itself constitutes an altercation then there is no excuse for Duncan not being suspended on the same type of incident in the Elson/Jones situation.
