Godamn Diaz just KOed Daley. First person to ever KO him? What a friggin fight. Stood with him and out struck him. Guy's a bad, bad man. And Melendez...damn. I've been excited ever since the merger to see him in the UFC LW division.
BTW Cecil Peoples reffing a fight? WTF? Never seen that before, didn't know refs and judges were interchangeable. How about that guy with the extreme mustache beard too?
Never noticed the red gloves in the corner of the screen on the live feed. Pretty funny lol but I don't have that much of a problem with shit talking, especially when its directed at another big time shit talker. During the weigh ins it looked like Daley started talking first and then Diaz repeated 2 or 3 times "We'll see bitch." Then right at the beginning of the fight Diaz immediately puts his hands down and talks for the first 45 seconds. Classic! lol its nice to value sportsmanship but hes just fun to watch IMO. Hes a big prick and over the top shit talker but he backs it up. Can't stand it when guys like Koscheck, Rashad, Rumble (recently) etc. shit talk and say they want a stand up war and then wrestle for 15 mins. The Diaz's are punks but I LOVE how they fight and that all that crazy shit they say is actually true. They just love to fight. They are honest that they just wanna get paid. Shits fucking classic. Although Diaz' performance screams "give me GSP/Penn/Fitch/Condit/someone in the UFC" I wonder if the in-fight taunting will hurt him. DFW was in attendance as well so he saw Diaz taunting Daley after the fight. Hes certainly not making any effort to "play the game" as DFW said. Hard to see the UFC letting him fight against their golden boy if hes going to pull that kind of shit. Quick question, is that a legal kick? I couldn't see that well but I'm guessing it was a kick to the body? A kick to the head certainly would have been illegal but is a kick to the body like that legal?
More sober thoughts: Fuck Melendez looks good. Love watching that guy fight. Give him some UFC guys stat, SF/Dream has nothing to offer him. My friend said he thinks Maynard would destroy him but is it me or is Melendez also a massive fuggin lightweight? Mousasi seriously needs to get his head out of his ass. Its nice that he paces himself and has that methodical kind of style but he shows no sense of urgency and good lord that take down defense is bad. For a guy who loves fighting off his back so much he didn't threaten King Mo or Jardine much. Good fight but Mousasi has to find a way to put Jardine away and he really needs to focus on wrestling defense if he ever wants to get back to being a championship level MMA competitor.
Yeah, legal kick. Can't kick to the head or stomp anywhere but a soccer kick to the body is fine, as far as I understand.
Also, safe to say Melendez would give Edgar/Maynard/Pettis all they could handle. Melendez's wrestling has improved since losing to Ishida/Thompson.

Maybe shit talking Daley after he KOed him? You can see Diaz's red gloves in the .gif of Daley being helped into the stool above and it looks like hes shit talking him more than congratulating him. Dana was in attendance. And hes said Diaz needs to "play the game" and hes chastised guys like A. Silva and Brock for their antics both in the cage and post-fight before. Seems like Diaz indicated it was something in the ring. Maybe it was shit talking Daley after. Maybe it was how he taunted him from the opening seconds of the fight. Either way I bet Dana wants to get him in the UFC but he just can't justify it as long as Diaz is going to act like that.
Helwani talked to the athletic director and to Coker and nobody knows why Diaz thinks he will be suspended (or why he has such a raging victim complex).
