Are sure you're just not really stoned and have been dropping your mail off in a church?

It's Ebay sale shipments.. so that's why I keep getting thank you cards from church charities! I was wondering.

This is disturbing and sad that you see mean acts and ascribe them to atheists (or any group). These acts are only indicative of jerks.

I was recently yelled at by a crazy guy while taking photographs of flowers with my father. The man cursed at us and actually said "Fu** You in the Name of Jesus!", as well as a handful of other insults. But I'm intelligent enough to know that this was just a crazy man and a mean man, and most certainly did not represent the thoughts, beliefs or actions of Christians.

Regardless of the Red Lobster man being atheist, Christain or Muslim, he was only representative of self-involved jerks, not any group from which he sprung.

Any Christian that knows better understands they sin and aren't perfect. The concept of being a Christian is to strive to be like Christ. Living a life of forgiveness, love and grace.

So if you live by Christ, your heart doesn't want you to live like that. It's up to the individual to follow that walk.

Are you saying Christ condoned sin?

I think Christians, other theists, agnostics and even Atheists have the good and bad. I've met some of the coolest people who where atheists. I've also known some real atheist assholes. I've known some awesome Buddhists and assholes. The same applies for any other ideology.

As a Christian, I believe we all have morality in us. So being Christian isn't the only way to achieve peace. Not being an asshole is how we achieve peace.

Have you driven a car lately? In my opinion, driving is the epitome of the "Me-ness" that appears to be growing in our society.

I'm sure it seems that way as existing systems become more and more overcrowded. If you're suggesting that increasing impolite driving is caused by increasing secularism that's moronic (and prejudiced).

According to Bill O'Reilly (who is never wrong, according to him) rap music is the cause of the decrease in Christianity. I was unaware there was such good atheist propaganda in rap music; I may have to start listening to it.

Rappers give thanks to God about as much as country music stars.

Bill-O's spent so much time pandering to his paranoid, nostalgic, confirmation bias seeking, elderly audience that he's become one of them.

Personally I blame everything for everything. Why do things have to change?

Huh? No, I was calling BS on being able to tell if someone is a Christian or non-Christian by how they treat a mother at Red Lobster.

That is likely a stretch Sly, but I can almost assure you that no one is in prison for acting out the teachings of Jesus as a Christian. That would be in this country, and sadly that may not be so in many others.

I call BS on that too.

Abortion clinic bombers are acting in the name of Jesus and Christianity.

Question for you. Is doing something in the name of Jesus, always the same as acting out the teachings of Jesus?

You might like to read the Jefferson's Bible. You can possible gain a little more insight it his use of the Creator in founding this country. Jefferson, like Albert E. that Jlpk referenced was an INTP character type (like myself) and I suspect that if he had lived in the time of Albert Einstein, he may well have been a Pantheists also. But evens so, his rather unique use of the Creator and his efforts of reordering the Bible should leave no doubt that he was not an Atheist. Not likely to believe in a personal god, or not even likely to believe Jesus was God, but that does not completely undo the power of the teachings of Jesus nor existence of God.

    Ps.
Noting that the Declaration of Independence is not a legal document is a lawyer type play on words.
Of course it is not. It was the design specification for a new Nation, written before any legal authority of that nation was created, such as Congress.
