@Darkwebs hurry up with the game four thread! I need advance info so I figure out how to get it recorded. I missed this game and it’s all your fault! When they change channels you need to make that crystal clear for those dumbasses like me!!

Definitely better. Whomever he is guarding has a poor to abysmal shooting night. When he runs the offense, he is making 'beyond his years' decisions and also setting up his defender to make the correct pass. His assist to TO ratio is off the charts...especially for LVSL.

quick add: ...and he has a lot of assists.
Game 1: He wanted to show he could score, check.
Game 2: He wanted to show he could get other players involved... 10 assists, check.
Game 3: He wanted to show he could get other players involved... 9 assists, check.
Game 3: Spurs make a big comeback... He goes around his defender and lays it up, check.

Basically, he has been able to do anything he wants.

Edit: he's also shown that he's pretty much the best player on either team in the first 3 games.

    Downside:
There's an extremely small, but nonzero chance Neil doesn't sign him.
There's an small chance Stotts doesn't play him.

Either of these would really piss me off.

I knew Layman would make strides this season....early on when we were drafting nobody agreed with me...now I must go pat myself on the back and gloat a bit

Unfortunately, Game 4 info hasn't been released for any team yet.

Summer league is not a game for bigs. Much too fast paced.

I'd usually agree, but if you look at the top scorers of Summer League players, there are several bigs (including the Collins we should've drafted): http://www.nba.com/summerleague/2018/players

In 75 minutes of SL play, he has exactly ZERO assists.

Zero for both Layman and Simons. Trent has very few as well.

Layman and Simons are troubling, obviously 3rd year Layman more than Simons. I don't count Trent - drawing fouls is like passing to yourself :)

I'd be a lot more troubled by the lack of assists, except none of these guys are handling the ball and initiating the offense a ton. Simons has been playing the 2, Trent the 3 and Layman the 4. Baldwin is doing most of the ballhandling and getting these guys the ball in position to take makeable shots.

If they were taking a ton of bad shots and missing open people, I'd be more concerned, but that hasn't been the case from what I've seen. And two of these guys are 19-year-olds and the other is a stretch-4.

If this is the worst things to take away from summer league, we all should be thrilled.

This was game-related. Baldwin fed him the ball.

Simons brought the ball up the court a number of times. I'm not worried, but at some point shouldn't you accidentally pass the ball to someone who shoots and scores? :)

    I am actually thrilled.

If Olshey don’t sign Wade (which is stupid), I hope he gets the chance to play on another team. Dude is a player on both ends.

I bet if you looked at the percentage of times he not only brought the ball up and initiated the offense, the percentage would be pretty low, even for summer league. Baldwin and Ware have been doing that much more.

And yeah, you'd think maybe he'd get an assist by accident, although he might have missed out on some assists for a very reason you mentioned: The guy receiving the pass has to shoot and score. If he doesn't, well, no assist.
