Apparently it's now sponsored by Samsung, and it will be from 10-20 July. If CJ does not win MVP it will only be because he decided not to play in it.
Random observation: The top two Summer League teams are playing in the WCF. But the two teams playing the ECF have a losing record in Summer League.
I doubt CJ and Leonard play, they may be on the roster but I don't think they'll lace up. RJ Hunter, Cameron Payne and Tyus Jones will be the talk of summer league from the rookies.
Casey Holdahl tweeted that there are rumblings that the Blazers Summer League Roster may be more robust than initially expected... Not sure what that means exactly but intriguing.
LMA wants to show he has recovered quickly from thumb surgery and build up his free agent value so he is playing.
Interesting unique standings. Those records seemed top-heavy, so I added and found the total to be 435 wins and 420 losses. Also, is that table just for Las Vegas or does it include Orlando?
I figured either that the Orlando standings total 15 more losses than wins, or that some defunct team used to play Summer League and went 0-15. But your explanation is much better!
Baby Shaq is actualy a player I like for Portland. His biggest downside is that he can't run full-court for more than 20 minutes.
I went for the Oden summer league and the one after so 2007 and 2008. Definitely a cool experience but Vegas in July is fucking hooooooooot. Literally took a step outside and my shirt was instantly stuck to me. 108 degrees + humidity.
CJ said on Courtside last night he won't play summer league. He said something about maybe being in Vegas so I think he would only be on the roster to practice as Dame and Wes have done.
Fuck that noise! So now he's too good? Reggie Jackson played summer league after HIS playoff breakout! Oh well, Tim Frazier for summer league MVP, then.
