That trade was made for 2 reasons. The 1st reason was that trading Ricky was really the only way we could dump Blount, plus he and Banks both caused locker room problems... and we all know Ricky is also one cocky SOB (love him though). The second reason is that both Paul and Ricky are 1-on-1 scorers, Wally moves (slowly) without the ball and doesn't need 12 iso's a game to be effective.

^^^^^^^^^We can really do some damage with a run and gun coach, with that line-up. Allen can come into the game for Green as a defensive game changer!
No...Tony Allen is a starter when healthy next yearGerald Green still doesn't deserve to start......he's a great player but he still needs to continue to develop and learn when to take his shots and to not get burned in transition on D

Indiana and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Trade ID 3750702.there's our presence in the middle and Paul would most likely love it!would Jefferson regress or would Jermaine stay strong side and pop 15 footers? Jermaine is a strong defender (though not outstanding), and his 2.6 blk/game would be so nice.If this trade was possible, you could draft Durant and move Paul to SGPacers get a decent sized PG/ Combo Guard, a Center who can play 20 mins a night and cap relief for after their year of rebuilding. (which they pretty much need to do IMO)Starting five;C - O'NealPF - JeffersonSF - Durant (crosses fingers) or Pierce (if draft doesn't go our way)SG - Pierce or Allen (ditto)PG - Rondo</div> :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: That would never happen. Are you joking?
Gerald Green shouldn't start next year. He can provide some scoring off the bench, but is way too unreliable for a major starting role. He runs around the court like a chicken with his head cut off.

Something Gerald is unreliable in. He can learn the game playing with Paul in the Starting 5.

Green doesn't play good team defense and doesn't play within a team offense, although since Doc is coaching the team doesn't really have one anyway. At least Allen would provide consistent defense. Plus, with Pierce, Jefferson, and possibly a top young big man that doesn't leave many touches for a guy whose best skill is scoring. He fits in much better coming off the bench and can either learn to bring energy or get shipped out of town. What has he ever done to deserve being catered to?
This probably is not a good trade but it worked on ESPN trade machine so I'll post itacers trade:Jermaine O'neal to BostonDavid Harrison to UtahCeltics trade:Theo Ratliff to IndianaDelonte West to UtahWally Szczerbiak to Utah1st round pick (2007) to Indiana2 2nd round picks (2007-2008) to UtahUtah trades:Andrie Kirelinko to BostonHere what each team gets:Pacers: Theo Ratliff, 2007 1st round draft pick from BostonUtah: Delonte West, Wally Szczberiak, David Harrison, 2 second round draft picks (2007-2008) from BostonBoston - Jermaine O'neal, Andrei Kirelinko.....................................................I dunno, just an idea. High54Life, why don't you tell everybody else here what you said on AIM? You know, the stuff you said about Green being better than Durant, you'd rather have Green than Durant, and that Green would have been an All-Star this year if he was starting all year. In other words, LivingLegend33, don't even waste your time arguing with him.

Ratliff, West, Wally's horrible contract/knees/ankles, 2 2nd rounders I don't care about, and a potential All-Star for two veteran All-Star caliber players who are excellent defensive players? Count me in. But again, I'd only do it if the pick is not in the top 2.

You still have a bunch of young guys who are potential all stars (Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Rajon Rondo) but you get some veterans to lead the way. I honestley think that trade would put you in instant title contention. it depends on how long you want to wait for a title though. I don't see what would be wrong with trading your pick even if it is top 2 for this deal. pretty much you just get rid of baggage and bring in all stars.

No way would I pass up on the opportunity to get a 19 year old franchise player to get myself 2 good injury prone players who are regressing. If we get a top 2 pick, we keep it. Period.
where do you play Kirelinko? SF?that's really not worked to well in Utah. He's more effective as a PF.He may adjust more and become an all around threat like he was before boozer became option #1, but I'm not sure if he will.
The Legacy, that's an awesome trade! If the pick is outside the top 2 I'd do it in a second. It's not that farfetched either because it makes sense for everyone involved.
I dunno man...I would love Durant but why not take Amare? It would fill the biggest team need (Center) and still give us a top 4/5/6 player in the draft...we would be able to keep Jefferson, Rondo, Pierce, Green and overall our core...we may have to throw in Ratliff though as a contract fillerAmare averages 21 and 10, shoots 58% from the field, shoots 80% from the line and he can block shots..what's not to love?I just thought of this because I read this on NBA.comUpdate: there is talk in league circles that the Suns would consider pairing a star with the lottery pick they might get from Atlanta to move up into the top two of the draft, where Greg Oden and Kevin Durant will be available. That means more of the usual Shawn Marion summer-trade talk, which now has become more than just rumors. Marion will make $34.25 million over the next two years. Stoudemire, another All-Star, would not be untouchable without a trophy. Like Marion, Stoudemire, who plays center, craves a larger portion of offense and fame and dislikes playing one position up from his natural spot. Analysis: If the Celtics don't get the number one pick I can see them making a deal like this if they could get Stoudemire and still hang on to a top pick. They'll never get Greg Oden from the Celtics however. Boston has been drooling all over themselves for more than a year over their Oden hopes, they won't trade him for anything. So what do you guys think of this? Or do you say Durant is just as untouchable as Oden if we get him? *knock on wood*http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.php?cont...amp;nbasite=nba STAT play yesterday in the playoffs(Again..slow news day so let's talk about the draft..I mean jeez it's in like 2 months)
I think it's more likely Marion is traded in this case than Stoudemire. I don't see Suns trading either for Durant plus their pick. It would make no sense for a championship contender to trade a key piece for a rookie, even if it was Durant.

I don't get this whole idea of trading a superstar for some kid. That seems like a pretty desperate tactic, like what the Lakers did with Shaq.
