Well I'm not saying the Suns would do this but if the deal were proposed to us, hypothetically I was wondering what Celts fans would do, take it or leave it, if they were in Danny Ainge's position

You do the deal, not only do you get Amare but you land a likely top 5 pick as well in a good draft. But I still think Suns don't even offer Amare or Marion. And if they were, it would be Marion, which you say Celts would not want. So in the end, a deal can't be worked out.
<span style="color:#FF0000">Topics merged.</span> Playa, I merged the Amare topic with your Summer Trade Idea Thread. On topic, Amare is not going to be shopped, so it's irrelevant. Rok said it, it's way more likely that Marion is shopped if anything (and yes, I'd like Marion).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (playaofthegame @ Apr 25 2007, 03:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Like Marion, Stoudemire, who plays center, craves a larger portion of offense and fame and dislikes playing one position up from his natural spot. </div>there's the deal killer IMO. Both these guys are chaffing under not being the obvious #1 guy on offence as they both have to share steve's sweet sweet passes for easy buckets. They go to Boston, you already have Paul and Al scoring buckets. If super-sensitive Marion would smarten up and realise he's better being a do-it-all like Scottie Pippen rather than a Vince Carter me first clone, he'd be great to have.Would Amare want to be option #2 in the post? Al is light years ahead of Amare when it comes to effectiveness in the post in a 1/2 court setting. If the Celts get out and run, Amare zooms by Al and gets the easy bucket. If this line didn't point to their obvious ego's it'd be a great trade, but you have to wonder how frustrated they'd become without the running, gunning and easy buckets or if the team faltered for the first month or two...
Ive got one.Celtics trade: Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes, Brian Scalabrine, and Delonte WestSonics Tade: Ray Allen and Earl WatsonThis Helps the Sonics start to rebuild a little While getting 2 veterans with somewhat expiring contacts. The Celtics get a great scorer to complement Pierce and a Decnt vet PG.

No....what's the point in LA getting Gerald when they already have Bryant and Walton...and why would we want Lamar Odom...do you realize how much wasted talent that is? He isn't aggressive enough and is as passive a player that you'll see with that talent..and why would LA want to trade Lamar Odom? Why?This is a dumb trade and you're an idiot once again.
The Lakers want a proven player who will bring them immediate results when paired with Kobe... why would they trade for Gerald Green and wait for him to fulfill his potential? If they went the "potential" route, they'd be better off staying pat and waiting for Bynum.
This trade would never happen for the reasons stated above. Also, make the title of this topic "Laker trade idea" or something along those lines. You made this look like a legit rumor with the title of the topic when in reality it is a pointless trade idea that would never happen in a million years. I like Odom as a player but he is the last thing the celtics need.

Why would they trade Gerald Green who was supposedly booming with potential for Lamar Odom, when he was untouchable in the Iverson trade. Stupid scenario, doesn't make sense.
<span style="font-family:Arial">Wow, Lamar Odom is worth more than Gerald Green and Theo Ratliff. The Lakers want to win NOW, not in the future.</span>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>When did Walton become so great, getting Gerald to LA is the only way to stop the hate.</div>Luke Walton had a pretty good year this year.....11, 5, and 5 is not bad for a role player like Walton who would clearly have more minutes than Gerald if Gerald got traded to LA which he never will anyway. Also, what is this stop the hate nonsense. Nobody is really hating on him, a lot of people just expect this guy to turn into the next T-Mac after two seasons in the NBA. It's not that simple, the guy needs a lot more serious work on his game.
High5, two things: 1. Like everybody else said, LA would not do that deal. 2. I merged this topic. Post all your trade ideas in this topic (just pinned it).

Who the hell wouldn't want a versatile big man who doesn't need 15+ shots a game to be effective?!?!If I was Ainge, I'd do this trade in a heartbeat.of course the Lakers would have to be high to accept it.

Analyst, that's not bad, but we don't need a guy like Ray Allen. I don't see the sense of bringing a guy like him in when you already have Paul Pierce. If we are going to trade for a star, I'd rather it be a big or a point guard, we don't need another wing (unless his name is Kevin Durant, of course ). Pierce, Ray Allen, Wally, Tony Allen, and Gerald Green? Can you say logjam?
do you think the sonics would give up ray allen and solid back up PG for an expiring contract, an 8th man hustler (scal) and potential back up Sf in Gomes and a solid 6th man in West?prooooooobably not.C's would have to sweeten the pot with the potential of Green IMO.C's need a solid center if they don't get the #1 pick so Al can stay at PF or a veteran PG who can run the team next year if Rondo falters or provide a back up roll/ share the back court with Rondo and help him develop into the team's floor leader.oh and a great trainer who can help the C's stay healthy and on the floor

Obviously if the C's trade for Allen one or two of their wing players will be gone thus eliminating a potential log jam.
