Outlaw and Roy were horrible tonight. I'm not too concerned though since it's preseason. Greg and LaMarcus both looked good and the Suns shot the lights out. Miller looks okay, but I think he still needs to do some work to get in shape.
Outlaw pretty much sucked it up tonight when I saw him keep going up for dumb jumpers and then get blocked so many times I was pretty convinced he was either getting traded or just not resigned because he was playing attrocious out there. On a side note the best part of the game was when frye was gaurding oden and right before the inbound pass he squeezed fryes nipple. I was dying for a good 5 minutes and so was frye haha
It's possible that we may have to get used to the idea of a slow start to our season. It appears it's going to take some time to determine who works best with whom and who should be getting more minutes etc. And it's probably best if they do take their time figuring it out and get it right. Also it seems like while they are doing that, Batum's development into a more assertive offensive player is being ignored. I understand Nate thinks he needs some rest, but I think he needs to start working more minutes with whatever unit he will be playing with; he needs to build some confidence that his new moves can work with this team.
Great. There are Outlaw's 4/5 misses. Where are his 5 makes? Plus, Outlaw had a higher +/- than Webster.
How can it not be ignored? Miller is dominating the ball and determining if Roy is "on" or "off" on any given night. Batum may as well sit on the bench at this point.
It was also higher than Oden's. That was a sequence in the second half. All of it was in order, and shows how worthless he is unless he is making shots.
I don't disagree with this point. Still, Outlaw hit 50% of his shots tonight and went 10/4/1 in 19 minutes while having a +/- lower than the final score.
That seems like a PG problem, doesn't it? Oden could not be guarded tonight, yet he only gets 10 shots?
Have you considered that the Blazers are running an inside-out attack (finally!) instead of an iso-high pick and roll offense and that it's going to take time for him to adjust to Greg and LaMarcus with expanded roles and it might not really be much to do with Miller at all?
all I'm going on is game stats... do you really want to make the case that Martell had a better night? He enjoyed 15 1/2 minutes of extra PT over Outlaw, scoring all of 5 more points and grabbing 1 more board. What on the stat sheet stands out to you? Travis's 1 more turnover or his one extra blocked shot. Of course this is Martell's traditional time to shine. Neither stat line stands out to me... Roy and Batum's lines did though. Roy for struggling and Batum for not playing. Oh well, it's just preseason when nothing really matters. STOMP
I've considered it. I've also seen that it, at least in the small sample I've seen, is much less effective than what we saw last season from the Blazers. They are struggling with the Kings, Clippers, and Suns right now. Teams with no inside game. I have a right to be a little bit concerned if other posters (and PRODUCERS) are already bashing Roy.
Schonz always looks so bad-ass, like he could take any three of us single-handedly, using his other hand to perform brain surgery, while simultaneously drinking us all under the table.
You're 100% correct. In the first half, with Miller, Oden got of his 10 shots. When Blake played with Oden he never looked at him.
