Let me start by saying, what is your point by focusing on the regular season anyway? Nash still isn't the MVP (and if we are just talking about the Regular season, Nash still shouldn't have been in second place either), and Duncan outplayed him in the playoffs.

One last note before I retort some of your points; you don't need to bring up Kobe. This discussion was about who had success and talent this year. Kobe's teammates suck so unfortunately he cannot win an MVP according to the vague/stupid guidelines.

<div class="quote_poster">scorbutic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Nash was 2nd in MVP voting, had 1013 and lost to Dirk by only 125 points. Duncan was 4th in voting with 286 points... I'm not the only one who thought that.</div>

And Iverson has as many MVPs as Shaq, your point is?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> KG & Carlos Boozer had better numbers than Duncan, Amare had 1 less rebound per game, even Yao had 5 more PPG with only 1 less RPG than Tim. </div>

You obviously don't understand what the Pace of a game is and I shouldn't waste my time repeating myself. No, Boozer/KG people did not have better "stats" than Duncan. Yao was SLIGHTLY better pace-adjusted, but he is inferior defensively.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The +/- is fine and all, it proves he should've been considered for the Defensive Player of the Year (he came in 3rd), but he had no first place votes for the MVP, everybody knows he had an off-year. Granted it was still a very solid year, but Dirk, Nash, and Kobe had great years.</div>

And can you explain WHY Duncan was voted fourth? Yes, you can copy and paste the results, congrats, but that doesn't explain why that list should end up in that order.

You also don't understand that Plus/Minus numbers measure the entire (offense + defense) impact one has on the game, so it isn't just a "defensive" stat. Duncan also had slightly better PER which is purely an offensive category.

Open your eyes, the voters discriminate against dominant forces and there is no stat that justifies Nash being the best MVP candidate. You're justifying your position by referring to the writers who voted based off whims and generalizations.

BTW, writers don't follow the Spurs as closely (or much, if at all) as the Suns so how would they know Duncan had an off year? You obviously think we are still in the 2005-2006 season because Duncan was not playing with an injured foot and was spectacular. Further, the reason the Suns even finished ahead of the Spurs in wins is because they got back Amar? this year.

He had 3 opportunity last 3 years but he choked. He maybe be superb in the regular season but he can't do it in playoff. Playoff basketball is totally different.</div>

just because he hasnt won a ring doesnt mean he has choked. leave it up to laker fan to be a complete moron

Get used to it. Lakers fans are required by law to check their brains at the door.
