magic should do this trade if it comes there way marion and kerr would be great for them . but will the suns really do this a good young player in kerr and a good franchise player in marion also the 7th pick. suns at least take out your 1st round pick if you dont you will get riped
mcgrady and amare would be a lethal 1-2 punch, but i still think phoenix would be better off with marion and johnson. phoenix got a good chance of drafting emeka as well...they'd be crazy to pull the trigger on this deal on the other hand, orlando would be crazy NOT to pull the trigger on this deal
I think that deal is stupid for the Suns, if I was the Magic I'd take it without even thinking. I mean how does it really help the Suns? You lose a guy that cna be a legitimate 20-5-5 guy (JJ), and Marion who can be a 18-20, 9 rebounds, 3-4 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals guy. Just to get Tmac. Hey, whatever floats your boat I guess. Giving them the first round pick would also allow them to have two lottery picks, Orlando can draft Emeka and a PG. Lineup: PG - Drafted PG SG - Joe Johnson SF - Shawn Marion PF - Drew Gooden/ Emeka C - Emeka/ Other C or Voushkl
Interesting trade rumor for both sides. I think the deal works out for both teams, but the Magic benefit more from this trade. They immediately get 3 starters, and possibly 4 depending on who they draft. The Magic need a shake-up and this gives a nice foundation to build around. For the Suns they get the superstar player they are missing and a strong, young duo to build around. This deal also opens the door for the Suns pursing Kobe as well. A lineup with Kobe, T-Mac and Amare can contend immediately in the West.

The lakers would want a good starting player at the least for him
Kobe is an unrestricted free agent, which means he can sign anywhere he wants for whatever he wants. The Suns have the cap space to make a run at him.
Two other rumors coming out are the Pacers trading Jonathan Bender and Al Harrington for T-Mac. Another rumor has Francis + 1 for T-Mac being explored.

There is talk about an Al Harrington/Jonathan Bender combination for McGrady. Houston would give up an unhappy Steve Francis (right) and just about anyone else on the roster except Yao Ming for McGrady.</div> Link (need registration, I believe) I don't think that Indiana is already talking about trading some players while they are still in the middle of their playoffs and also this trade is not a good one for Orlando. I don't like the Francis + one other except Yao as well. Orlanod needs a PG but Francis is not the PG Orlando needs and especially not when we have to give them T-Mac in return. The Suns trade rumor makes more sense. But then we would still lack a good PG and a team leader. And I highly doubt that we draft a good PG. We haven't had luck with our PG drafts in the last years (Sasser, Gaines), so I wouldn't count on that. And since Armstrong had to leave Orlando we lack a real team leader as well.

Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady would have a better chance of working together than Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady. I'm sure when Kobe leaves LA (if he leaves) and would happen to join the Phoniex Suns. He would be ready to show the world what he's capable of doing. Now that he would no longer be in Shaq shadow, it would be his time to shine. And all of that would create one big sunny cloud on top of his head, which would lead him to take all the shots he wants and just do whatever he desires. That’s when Tracy McGrady comes in. Not only will he want to take his 30 shots per game to get another scoring title, it will ruin Kobe plans to show the world his talent. To sum it up, it would end up something similar to the current Lakers team. Bunch of talent. Looks good on paper. But cannot play as a unit. And we all know about the rivalry between Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady. Although, they are very good friends off the court, I’m sure there would be some kind of soap opera going on. I believe a squad like that would be a good team and make the playoff's, but not play up to its potential due to ego's.
This is entirely TOOOOOOOO MUCH for T-Mac. He's not that valuable that you give up a great up coming player like Johnson and argueable the most underrated star in the league in Marion, PLUS 2 other guys, including a first rounder? Yeah, the Magic would pull this trade in a heartbeat and if they didn't, they'd be certifiably insane. T-Macs got health issue to boot, including the dreaded back problems. Great player who wil be a fan draw, but not anywhere near the currency being suggested in this trade scenario, IMO.
how often are trades like this rumored without clear justifictation? Is there much chance the trade rumor was exaggerated to include marion (although they are two of my three favorite players, I can see JJ and Voskuhl plus a pick for McGrady... remorsefully)? How often do legit trade rumors pan out? I wanna hope for any way this won't happen.
i would really love to see mcgrady go to the pcers.. they would then be able to kick some aerious western conference a$$.... i think that if the pacers were going to get mcgrady then they may have to give up ron artest at least.... harrington and bender arent anything to set ur franchise around so the magic wouldnt take it IMO
