Let them call us because it gives us a great opportunity to start talks with these teams for CJ and anyone else we can use to build the right team around Dame. If these guys want to pay a kings ransom for Dame, maybe they want to give us a fraction of that for CJ.
Theory behind my post was...guys who dominate the ball and are small - 6'4 and under. PG, SG, Combo guard, what does it matter? Lillard is too small to do it all on his own with any real consistency in outcome.
So you discount the obvious counterexample to this which is Steph Curry by saying "he had an amazing supporting cast". Well... people didn't think so before Steve Kerr arrived. You're over-complicating things. The Blazers don't have a good enough team to compete. No grand theory needed.
Lol yes absolutely. Dame needs an amazing balanced supporting cast just the same. The Warriors drafted Klay in 2011, Draymond in 2012, and got rid redundancy in Monta Ellis. The Blazers need to get rid of redundancy just the same, and re-balance the team better. Right now their 3 best players are all basically THE SAME PLAYER, at differing skill levels. Dame God-tier, CJ Tier 2, Norm Tier 3. To me, it's obvious why they can't win.
No 1 player carries a whole team to championships, or really even finals. Unless they are in a very weak conference. It just doesn't happen.
Miami could be interesting… A Bam Adebayo package is far more appealing than RJ Barrett and a bunch of mediocre future picks.
