I'll cheer for Meyers to succeed in a backup role...no need to think he'll be the player he was 2 seasons ago..last year he actually rebounded well and showed improvement in small sample sizes...hopefully he can give us some of what Big Ed did plus some scoring. I hope he's the "Give me that shit" rebounder this year

That might just happen and it to bad layman wasn't stronger he could play that stretch 4.

Layman is plenty strong enough to play a stretch 4...it's his position..guy has a stronger lower core than most guys on our roster as it is...uses his legs for positioning instead of his upper body...I'm actually stoked at the possibility that he can become an impact player like Brent Barry was

Especially since the so many opposing stretch 4's have no desire, or the skill, to post up.

Where do you get this stuff?

And Brent Barry played pretty much every position BUT stretch four.

observation...original thought...what does it matter to you where I get my opinions from?...announcers have compared him to Barry all through summer league...you are welcome to your opinion...if you have one. I own my views about Layman...and stand by my comparison...disagree if you like...Layman can play 3 positions..Barry could too...as to arguing about it...waste of time...you can compare Layman to someone that fits your narrative and I won't be saying...where do you get this stuff....I take these posts of yours with a grain of salt dude...get over it...add to a topic for a change instead of playing the detractor of other's views for a change...enough with your disrespectful quoting of my posts wouldn't you say? Just do us the favor of not engaging my take with some watering down response that is aimed at discord...classic crap bait

...or if we want to go the grizzled veteran route, there's David West.

Caleb has no excuse this year. Baldwin is a better point guard than Gutierrez. He’s getting looks. He’s getting touches. This team is probably the most big man friendly summer league team I have ever seen, and yet he’s not performing. Not at all. And that’s why we didn’t see him really at all last season. He’s not good.

He's been a monster rebounder....top ten in summer league....you were expecting Lamarcus Aldridge elbow jumpers? Sure he's got holes in his game but that's not all he does….the dude is a rebounding machine...and we've won all four games he's played in for what it's worth

He played way better last season...people who diss him are referencing two season's ago...with Ed he didn't get much court time...now he will

Okay.... in a summer league where there aren't many big men and everyone wants to shoot the three. Most of his boards are on the defensive end.

He's averaging 7.5 ppg, He's shooting 27.6% from the field and 28.6% from three.

He's handing out 4 assists per game, but he's also turning the ball over 4 times per game, which is horrible.

Look at these stats and tell me he's playing well

His PER is half what it was last summer. His offensive rating has tanked. His TS% and eFG% are abysmal. And this is contrast of everyone else looking significantly better with Baldwin at the point.
