I agree, he is the only one of our role players who has some game and a good contract. I guess I am really bummed about his playoff performance. Lacks focus a lot on defense and even knowing when to dive to the basket on offense. Is it coaching or him?

I imagine him shooting every time he touches the ball :)

His USG% is as high as Dame's or CJ's.

If he gets more space--ergo, better shots--being on the floor with Dame, CJ, and Nurkic, I would have no problem with him shooting 20 times/game.

Yup. Just run those same pick and pops that we ran for Aldridge like he gets on team USA. That NY environment is toxic, from the fans to the media to Phil-- he needs to gtfo.

    Turner + 20 + Fes for Melo.

    Do they do this?

That would be so ideal, but Melo won't approve.

I think they can do this for Crabbe+Harkless. If they trade I think they want to go young. Turner not an ideal fit for them.

Trade Lillard for Paul George, Aminu and 2 1st rd picks for Shaun Livingston. Crabbe for James Johnson & filler.

    Next years starting lineup:

    Livingston
    McCollum
    George
    Johnson
    Nurkic

    pipe dream.

OK, I went through all the SF's and the only ones remotely available would be Gallinari and Joe Ingles. Couldn't Utah use a shooter at SG like Crabbe? They don't have a lot of garbage contracts to unload however so not sure how to entice them?

Paul George is not a good idea. He is dead-set on getting to the Lakers.

If the Bulls blow the 2-0 lead then Butler should be the focus imo.

Sorry, this is awful. 2 first round picks for Livingston?
Dame for PG who can leave next summer?

Why wouldn't they just keep Ingles who is just as good of a shooter?

Any Melo trade rumors are awful as well. I want nothing to do with that guy.

He's a sf who plays behind Hayward. I think Crabbe could start for them at SG.

That's fine, but at least Melo is on the market. His GM said as much.

Johnson andLivingston are both free agents. Not only are your trade values completely off (Johnson is worth way more), two of your three targets can't be traded

IF that happened... Mild LeoTARD wouldn't be Gomer Pyle... he'd be Private Pile :smiley-muha:

I'm all for putting Private Pile through our version of bootcamp; if things stay true to form... our hazing/brow-beating would transform Mild LeoTARD into a sharpshooting killing machine!:smiley-misici: The only problem w/ this plan is that the LeoTARD has to remain on the team... nah, scratch this idea, to the dumpster w/ this flaming bag o' Private Poo!

I didn't check anything, I was just giving examples off the top of my head to balance the roster. I'm not sure our ball dominant, lack of defense back court is our path to a deep playoff run. I adore both Lillard and McCollum. But, if there is a star out there that balances the roster more, you have to do it. We also need guys like James Johnson who buy into the idea of defense as a team concept. Our best defender, Aminu relies on his athleticism, gambles way too often and on the other side of the ball is a loose cannon.

This team has major holes that need be patched up, our best bet of getting anything of real value might be to break up the back court. I see this team as a fringe playoff team for years to come, even with the emergence of Nurkic, if we don't get some balance to the roster.

Agreed, which is why I'm fine with bold moves -- being conservative and shooting for small incremental changes probably isn't going to get it done, and I don't think you can count on Nurkic style trades to fall into your lap more than about once per decade.

How can you have options without flexibility?
