When TD screens TMac leaving KG on Kobe, KG can defend Kobe, when KG screens Kobe leaving TD on TMac, TD will struggle more with TMac. However Kobe would defend the mis match better if they use the pick the other way, however I feel that with the more mobile big man, KG and TMac have the advantage even if Kobe and TD are better players.
I think its too close to call. The left side has the edge with the big man but tmac is a slightly better guard than kobe. its real close and would just be a fluke who actually won
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he doesn't need to be close to the glass. he can play away from the basket. he's done it plenty of times.</div> ...WRONG AGAIN... Duncan is not even top 3 outside PFs in the L... KG, Webber and Malone beat him far in the catergorie... quit letting your bias opinion blur your vision and make you think Duncan is some kinda god when hes out on the permiter of the floor... Duncan is the best low player in the game... he stays there... he doesnt play outside because he cant... KG is a much better defender outside the basket and can play much better outside... KG has way better latteral movement and is much quicker than Duncan Duncan has a advatage over KG in the paint, but its nothing like KG on the outside over Duncan... and I like what was pointed out... KG could gaurd Kobe... but could Duncan gaurd T-mac? Of course not... like I said... get off thinkin that Duncan is somethin special away from the friendly glass and inside amongst the trees... because you are WRONG...
I think the Kobe and duncan tandem would win ... but for different reasons than everyone else had listed. I agree with most of the comments about KG being able to take Duncan outside and then being just about as good as Duncan inside, then also being able to guard Kobe if needed. But that where Kobe and Duncan have the advantage. Duncan is a master at playing within his limitations ... he is going to leave the outside shooting and driving to Bryant and then will always post up on the inside. Which pretty much leaves McGrady neutralized on defense since McGrady would be hard pressed as it is to defend Bryant on the perimeter, but with Duncan in the paint Kobe can drive and dish it, pass it off, or hit the open jumper if McGrady tries to cheat towards Duncan. Of course Tracy and KG could use the same strategy ... but something tells me they probably wouldn't just because KG is such a rounded player he will probably try to do too much.
KG would destroy Duncan 1 on 1. He's faster, a better leaper, dribbler, and can create his own shot, something Duncan cannot do. Kobe & T-Mac are pretty much a wash, but T-Mac has a size advantage over Kobe, and eventually that would give him the edge 1 on 1. This match-up could go either way, but I would give the edge to KG & T-Mac.
duncan can create his own shot <div class="quote_poster">Quoting purehoops:</div><div class="quote_post"> like I said... get off thinkin that Duncan is somethin special away from the friendly glass and inside amongst the trees... because you are WRONG...</div> i never said he was the most amazing prerimeter big man. i'm just saying that he can play away from the paint if he needs to, and he'll do a good job of it. you mentioned chris webber.. he's not much of a prerimeter defender and shouldn't be wasting his time outside of the paint
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">duncan can create his own shot</div> 98% of his shots are created for him... Webber is a better outside shooter than Duncan, they both pretty much suck defending out there...
i tire of this. face it. Duncan is the MVP. he deserved it. hes not quite as versatile but hes ever so slightly over all better and more valueble than KG> get back on the topic
get back on topic? This is on topic you dumbass... read the posts before you jump in here... this is about a 2v2 game... and we are pointing out what is needed to play in a 2 on 2 game...
and you grow tired of this... you werent in the discussion... you stated you lil opinion and didnt come back to follow up...
T-Mac and KG. KG has handles and heighth. Both T-Mac and KG can shoot, dunk, dribble, drive. TD just doesn't have all of those skills at the optimal level that KG does. He's one of the best players, that needs the team to be at his best.
