Of course he's unhappy. He and the Rocks aren't doing well. Who actually enjoys losing a game? Futhermore, who wouldn't get discouraged after losing a lot of games. He's one of the top guards in the league, but he's had to deal with failure for the teams he's been on. Sure he's going to be really frustrated. I know I would be. But I agree that he needs to stop the talk and start making changes to find something that's going to work for him and the team.

It's not like he can just go out there and make plays, create the offensive strategy, and play Van Gundy's defense like a natural. If he takes the team into his own hands, it's going to become like the Magics all over again, definitely something we do not want. I see a better way would be for Van Gundy to allow McGrady to penetrate more and create some iso plays for him, instead of making him take near the 3 point line jumpers.

Naturally. I never said I thought it was entirely his own responsibility to create the off stragtegy for the team, nor do I think he should (or that he even really could) take the team "into his own hands." Just speaking on personal opinion, I've never been a fan of JVG and his coaching style. I don't think the Rockets have done anything productive in defining roles, especially for McGrady, which in my opinion is where he needs some direction and guidance. I am also doutbful that the Rockets will figure out a winning "formula" any time soon. They've got enough working parts. Building a team that knows how to play off each other is a whole nother issue, and will not be an easy task for them at this point.

I forgot to mention that I'm not trying to say they are doomed to a horrific season, not in the least. They have just fallen short on the potential I think they have.
