I hope they don't win any of the remaining games. Even one win could result in worse position for the draft.
Ridiculously skinny kids who did okay: Kevin Garnett Marcus Camby Brent Barry Will Barton Kevin Durant And that kid Evan Mobley seems to be doing okay.
Yeah, now compare their athleticism & foot speed. Also, that Evan Mobley kid has 25lbs on Chet Holmgren.
Also, Camby and KG had 20+ lbs on Chet as well. So out of the big guys you mentioned, none of them were nearly as frail as Chet.
Who has compared him to Bradley here? The closest comp as I have been saying ad nauseum is Mobley, or a more skilled Gobert. And even those two I think are far more mobile laterally (as well as stronger/heavier) than Chet.
You do know there's a difference between frail and skinny right? Chet hits the deck a ton in his games and bounces right back up. From the research I've done the only injury he has from playing basketball coming up on twenty years old was a broken right wrist when he was 12. So this kid who has played competitively at the school, club and invitation level that entire time hasn't had one other noteworthy injury and he's somehow frail? He's fucking way too light for a post, that's for sure but that in no way makes him injury prone. The thing about Chet that I think is the biggest barrier that will keep him from being an all nba level player is his lack of foot speed and explosive athleticism. Other than that, this guy has a great feel for the game, great footwork on both ends, great timing defensively, a fantastic jumper, brilliant handles and passing for a big and a really high motor which might be one of his best qualities. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Jabari, Paolo or a trade that nets us an all star caliber player who is already in the league but if we do end up with Chet there is a helluva lot more to be excited about than worried about. I will excuse all of you with sports fan PTSD from Zach and Greg.
Frail doesn’t mean injury prone. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/frail Look at definition #3, subsection B. YoU dO kNo…
I do think you have a hard time using a dictionary if you got out of it what you're saying you did but hey, cool, your concern with Chet isn't that he will be injury prone... then we're in agreement. I would suggest using another word to describe him then since the use of the word frail in our vernacular does almost always mean fragile.
It makes no difference how much Chet ways now, it is more about how much good weight can he add in the next 4-5 years.
Tell me how we are gonna build a freaking title contender around dame? Don’t give me the dame deserve a chance crap. This is the same dude who wanted to keep CJ over star fowards all these years. The same dude who loved stotts and wanted to keep him after the pelicans series. The same dude who didn’t demand more out of Neil. The same dude who will demand $50 mil at the age of 36. Never won a conference champ game. Sure we never put the proper team around dame, but he waited way too long to demand that. Sure he put up some of the best offensive scoring stretch the league ever seen, he been the most loyal player the blazers ever had. He deserve to play on the championship team, unfortunately due to the front office incompetent, that will never happen here
I am fine trading him. I just think as soon someone wants to let Chet gain 25 libs I want to make sure they also want to blow it up that’s all.
he's also the "same dude" that hasn't spent a half-second in his career as the Blazer GM yeah, let's blame Dame for olshey not doing his fucking job
They're not tanking and I don't think they'll out tank us. We're the ones sitting guys with injuries that usually wouldn't keep them out as long if at all and now resting Hart. We're dedicated to this tank. The Knicks had that win and then Johnson banked that shit in. They also lost their best guy to an ejection.
Man if we really commit, we can get up to #5. We’re 4.5 games back with 20 left. That’s doable. Pacers aren’t hopeless.
Hey, the fact that they're starting Williams over Blevins is an anti-tank move. Curious to see how this Williams-Hart backcourt performs
