I think Orlando will win at least 2 more. They're playing much better the second half of the season, and have had enough lotto picks they're not trying to add another few spots. Washington and Indiana are only 1 win ahead of us. Indy easiest game is against Detroit. Others are all playoff opponents. Washington actually plays Orlando, Houston is their other winnable one. The rest are all playoff opponents. So possible both Indy and Washington could lose out or only have 1 more win. Also final game of the season is unpredictable. We play Golden State. But if their playoff seed is locked they might sit all rotational players and start 3rd string.
Yeah, but they may play Payton II and he may single-handedly beat the Blazers just to show us what a great player he is.
Indiana losing to Dallas. Wizards host Boston tomorrow. Magic at Memphis tomorrow. Portland needs to lose to keep pace.
We need to lose out, it's that simple. The next player who needs to sit down is Nas. I'm sure it's fun to ball out and all but he's already signed his extension. That being said, I don't think we'll have to sit Nas until the Spurs game and then he might as well stay sitting after that. I think the Wizards will lose their game to the Magic and that will give us the 5th spot in the lotto outright.
Blazers are tied with Orlando right now for 5th in the lottery....but Washington and Indiana are a half game behind an ill-timed win can drop Portland from 5th to 8th
In Austin? So that should be like a home game...isn't Austin the "Portland of Texas" (not to be confused with Portland Texas, the actual Portland of Texas)?
Not sure man. Very nice arena, tons of fans support. Not sure. You just never know….that’s why I warn people to be careful wishing for them to sell our Blazers.
After the bad press from the Seattle situation, I have a hard time seeing the league (owners) approving the move of another franchise, with history, out of their media market unless that franchise was losing more money than the increase in said franchise's valuation increase. The only team I really think of that doesn't have a legit history is the Thunder but I think they're going to stay put too. If our team gets sold I don't think the league would let the new owner move it... especially when they're planning on expanding with additional teams in Vegas and Seattle.
If the Blazers don't land Wemby, and decide to keep their pick instead of trading it for a super dude, they should draft to their strengths and not rely on a rookie to cover their weakness. Grab a kid with mad handles that can run Chauncey's zippy whippy offense. If the Blazers plan on fixing the defense, it's pretty clear it won't happen from internal growth. They'll need to hire more ball stoppers and rim protection from elsewhere in the NBA.
