Getting Prince open up Dame and CJ due to Prince will make teams pay. Teams will have to account for him on the floor. Prince is a 43 percent shooter 36 from the 3 and can score at 3 level.
The underlying question here, is can the Blazers rely on Harkless going forward? If the answer is "no" and you still want to go for a play-off berth, then the team doesn't really have the luxury of seeking a perfect replacement. Prince may well be the least bad option.
Yeah. We needed a wing even before the Harkless situation. Beggars can’t be choosers. Find the best possible guy and pull the trigger. Prince might be that guy, assuming guys like CJ and Collins aren’t on the block.
I would say Tobias Harris has gotten better the last 4 years. DeMarre Carrol took a while as well. He might be in decline now at 32, but he struggled his first 4 years.
Prince looked terrific his first two years. I'm less concerned about this season as he's been battling injuries. I'd love to him and his versatility. He'd be a great fit.
'Someone' mentioned Prince's name to me a couple of weeks ago. He has been rock solid in the past so I tend to believe what he says. This is the first I've seen of a national mention of Prince/Blazers. So perhaps that is validation?
I don't know about the source, but it's not a big stretch to say the Blazers would be interested in Prince if available. They need wings.
Harris is basically what Stauskas "should" be. His shooting is phenomenal but provides no defense. I wouldn't mind having him but I don't think he's the answer as our starting SF moving forward with Dame and CJ still in the back court.
Prince seems like the type of guy Olshey would get and then tout as the piece to take us "over the top". Haha.
I never claimed he was, although he could develop his playmaking more than Harkless has. Turner and a pick likely won't land us a star wing but if we get one on his rookie deal that still has a chance to improve on a better team that might be our best option. Put another way, Prince has been better on a crappy Hawks team than Pre-Blazer Harkless. There is a chance of him taking a big step in a different role like Moe has (when motivated and healthy).
This guy can do only one thing very well, shoot the ball. His defense is not really good and his passing is bad, he also has a bad habit of trying to do more than he is acutally capable of. All in all though he is on a very cheap contract and if we just use him on spot up situations and work on his D he can be valuable. He needs a lot of work though. At least the shooting is already there.
After starting every game last season, Prince has missed half the games this season. Who made him expendable for trade talk? I calculated who has taken away Prince's SF minutes this season. 37% DeAndre' Bembry 18% Kevin Huerter 18% Taurean Prince 9% Vince Carter 7% Daniel Hamilton 7% Justin Anderson 3% Kent Bazemore 1% Tyler Dorsey 100% total Atlanta SF minutes
Definitely has more potential. He's been really hard to figure out. Basic stats look decent but his advanced stats look terrible. Should be a great defender but hasn't been. Is that a product of his environment? Lots of questions. Turner, Leonard, a 1st, and 2nd(s) for Prince, Lin, and Dedmon would be a great trade. I don't think Atlanta would take that though, and I don't know if I'd give up more. Lin could replace Turner's playmaker role but then we'd need to trade Curry somewhere because Lin would take his minutes. We'd have even more of a logjam with this roster: Lillard (36) / Lin (12) / Curry McCollum (35) / Lin (13) / Stauskas Prince (28) / Harkless (20) / Layman Aminu (28) / Collins (20) Nurkic (28) / Dedmon (20)
