TBH at this moment, nobody is on her level. But I see your point and agree. There was a discussion on the radio recently about that, actors under 30, or 35, and they were googling up and coming actors and actresses, and even some "X best actors under 30" lists had people over 30 on it, lol.
For movies, it was the rise of the franchises that killed the superstar. Instead of going to see the new Tom Cruise movie or the Bruce Willis movie, it's going to see the new Marvel movie or the new Star Wars movie. But it's backfiring. People are burned out on those franchises and the quality has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY in the last five or so years. For music.... it's the death of MTV I think. Music videos launched a lot of careers. Would Britney Spears or the Backstreet boys been as popular if not for millions of teenagers drooling over them?
Hence the whole AI bs she had to deal with recently. Drag her down so she doesn't make them feel so insecure.
Okay, the AI thing is hilariously overblown because people have been photoshopping celebrities on naked bodies for decades. I was looking at fake nudes in high school in the 90s. Why is this suddenly so alarming?
Go look on google and there's probably 100 videos of girls who look like Taylor Swift in a porn. The true scary thing is the AI voice fakes. Those are, to me, much more alarming. Pair that up with deepfake videos and you can fake a president or a celebrity saying something that could hurt their career.
Who is complaining about her? Some posts on Twitter or X or whatever the hell it's called? To be honest I have seen very little in the way of complaints about her. I consider myself a conservative, but I like Taylor Swift and am happy for her and Travis Kelce.
I haven't seen whatever is being discussed, but I think this is probably close to what the issue is/ could become. It's one thing to see a photoshop still image. It's another if AI can use her image, and vice, and basically create her in a porn.
The existence of this thread really puts alot of the other arguments that take place here into context.
I'll admit I can't stand her music, but I'm also well aware it's not made for me and that's totally fine. I was pretty annoyed earlier in the season by the two of them parading around at games because it seemed to be all for show and a way to stay in the spotlight. It definitely gave him a big boost in Q rating, and it exposed her to another group that might not have been into her. I figured it would go away after a couple games but it seems like they are really into each other, so whatever. The hardcore republicans bashing her does seem to have the opposite effect they are looking for, which is pretty comical. I still think he's a punk on the field and a little of that might have to do with my disdain as whole for that franchise.
Of course. And of course it wanst every play or set of downs, but often enough to maintain a stigma in the mind, keeping it fresh and consistent, feeling as though its constant.
I'm pushing 70 and find the whole thing funnier than hell. The 20th Century had Beatlemania, and it made the whole Taylor Swift thing look like a pimple. And that's all the Taylor Swift thing is; the Beatlemania of the Twenty First Century. It's nothing more than a pop culture shift. Of course the target of outrage with Beatlemania was the whole men's hairstyle bullshit. The Taylor Swift thing morphing into political hysteria is bizarre and shows just how insecure certain segments of American society have become if they feel threatened by the union of a singer and a football player. Only in America........
My father has a room full of trophies from when this was super popular. He was ranked for years and his (now) ex wife was Ranked #1 for almost a year. This is when they have million dollar tournaments back in the 70's.
