I basically agree with most people's picks here but Stephen Jackson is the Hawks new MVP and not Jason Terry. Just wanted to clear that up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Henacy:</div><div class="quote_post">I didnt mean that Grizzlies wanted the ball in the hands of Gasol for a game winning shot. I mean during the course of a game every team goes thru a stretch where they cant seem to produce a basket. And during those times Hubie is more like to draw up a play to get Gasol the ball over anyone else. </div> Because the plays are designed for him occassionally it means that he's the MVP? He can't even do much but hook it or flop. I don't care if a guy gets me forty points per game; if he doesn't play defense, he doesn't get my respect.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">Finally, someone besides myself has put Dampier as the Warriors MVP. He's been their most consistent player without a doubt, he'll give you 15-20 points, 12-15 rebounds every other night. He's been a monster on the glass as well as giving some scoring production. At times, he has even put the Warriors on his back. Sure, J-Rich has been the man scoring for Golden State, but I'd possibly even say Cliff because of his clutch shooting down the stretch. Brian Cardinal and Speedy are some other good names as well.</div>Dampier is not the MVP IMO. Sure he is having his best season of his career but J-Rich is the man for the Warriors. If Damp is the MVP, why doens't he play in the fourth quarter of games? He doesn't run the floor and he picks up stupid fouls and is a horrible free throw shooter. J-Rich is the man the Warriors look to for a lift at the end of ball games. The ball is in his hands when it counts. That is an MVP quality.

I'm not gonna argue with ya. The point I was trying to make was Dampier is the man throughout the game that keeps the Warriors in it. He's constantly on the offensive boards giving the Warriors 2nd oppourtunities, which he is #1 in the league in, and also averaging 12 rebounds a game overall. He is also the Warriors inside presence putting in the easy buckets. I'm going to say it right now, Damp is definetley not the guy to have in the 4th quarter. Myself I'd rather go with a smaller lineup that hustles more which is what they do. I like J-Rich, but not for their overall MVP over the season so far. He's done a lot for them scoring wise, and being a good rebounder for a guard, but his defense is a question and IMO just doesn't bring the MVP quality that Damp brings.
I guess this can go either way. Dampier has carried this team at times especially with all of the injuries. I'm going to start a similar thread in the Warriors forum. Check it out.

The Bulls always allow the other team to score more once Kirk gets benched. They can easily play the game with Jamal out though... so Kirk for MVP.
