The range will be small in the beginning, but will expand in time. I think this technology will be a primary enabler of driverless cars.
How can the range expand using higher frequencies? I think a big reason for using the higher frequencies, is to reduce the range and use more transmitter location in the High population density areas, or high use areas such as Interstate highways. Thus providing more control over different levels of support in different local areas.
I agree. It will be possible to have better more reliable control of such item as driverless cars, drones on the like. But not better for everything. Thus I hate to see 4G LTE go by the wayside. 3g is going, sliding out of use but, no real loss except where there in no 4G.
