I love telfair's game but if I had to choose one to start my franchise with, i'd choose livingston, mostly because of height...he can also rebound nice (3 boards/game) and averaged over 1 steal a game...Telfair is a great passer and has great court vision but livingston just intrigues me more and possibly has better potential...

Shaun Livingston is versatile with height, but he does not have the ability to be as unstoppable offensively as Telfair does, nor does he have to the marketability that Telfair has. Sebastian has the potential to be the best point guard in the league, and the minimum of being a top three for most if not his entire career once he fully matures.

Telfair is lightning quick with a Samsonite like handle(I took that from HoopsTV.com video on Telfair when he was in 8th grade), with the potential to be a Iverson-Marbury hybrid player, a small point guard with lightning quickness that can get to the hoop at will, and create his own shot or for his teammates. If he is not as good as Why did the Trailblazers draft him at 13 over Jameer Nelson? Why is he the NY State all time scoring leader? Why do you think that he was on the cover of SLAM as a sophmore with LBJ? Why do you think he was ranked as the best player in his class since the 5th grade? until his senior year where everyone in the media turned against him.

Livingston's main advantage is his height, not anything else. He is not as great a scorer as Telfair, and does not have the presence that Telfair has on the court. Everyone knew about Telfair since Junior high school, I have never heard of Shaun Livingston until he was in his senior year in highschool, and I follow High school basketball greatly.

Not only does Livingston have the height advantage but he also has the court vision advantage (partly because of the height) and the passing advantage. The only thing I would give to Telfair at this point in his career is the ability to score and nothing else. When Livingston finds ways to use his height to his advantage on the offensive end to score he will be one of if not the most dangerous player in the NBA, posting up smaller guards in the post and distributing the ball to his teammates for easy buckets.

Also it really doesn't matter how much media hype a player received in high school at all. Media hype doesn't win you games nor give you skills in the NBA. Just because you never heard of Shaun Livingston until his senior season doesn't mean he wasn't a great player. If Shaun Livingston wasn't well known in high school, how did he manage to be recruited by one of the top programs in college hoops in Duke?
