    Terry To Keep Captaincy

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Terry suffered a miserable end to last season, missing one of the vital penalties in the Champions League final which handed the trophy to Manchester United.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Scolari revealed how John Terry had introduced himself to his manager. He said: “Yesterday, he came to my room and he said I'm the captain John Terry and I said I know you and we spoke!”

Scolari also went on to admit that he was impressed by Terry’s leadership qualities and this is what had convinced him to let the defender keep hold of the armband.

“I like him as a captain,” said the Chelsea manager, before adding, “I like him as a player and as a leader.”

The news will come as a relief to Terry who will also be hoping that he will be once again named as the captain of England when Fabio Capello announces his decision next month.

Terry has lost the job as national captain in recent games and has had to watch as first Rio Ferdinand and then Steven Gerrard have taken the armband as Capello assess his options.

Luiz Felipe Scolari also confessed that Frank Lampard would be his vice captain. The Blues boss said: “The captain is John Terry and the second captain is Lampard, but we want more captains on the pitch.”

This is likely to increase speculation that Lampard will be staying at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder had been linked with a move to Inter Milan to link up with former boss Jose Mourinho and it is thought that Inter had even made a bid for Lampard but recent reports suggest that he will now be staying in London.</div>

Well i think he should keep the captaincy as he was a great captain before, and he shows great leadership on the pitch

I would expect Deco to be named co-captain if Lampard indeed leaves.

Yeah maybe for half a season or so. But Scolari loves Deco, that's why I think he might end up being co-captain.

He probably does, most players these days know english.

We'll find out when they hold a press conference during the first few days in the beginning of the season.

They probably will, knowing that Scolari will try and go after Portugese and Brazilian players very hard, and he knows most of them, since he coached both Brazil and Portugal.

Thats why I thought he was a great choice for the coach position at Chelsea.

They could make them British citizens. [IMG]

Thats what Real and Barca have been doing, making some players Spanish citizens.

But don't they have to stay at a country for a certain amount of time?

Correct, there's a minimum, I forgot the number but you're right, they need to stay at that certain country for a few years before being able to get the citizenship.

Like for example Kaka got Italian citizenship last year.
