Meeting this group was a blast, but I must say - my mental image of this group of poster as a bunch of hot female blonds is now shattered. Not that there's anything wrong with flannel wearing, balding, overweight, socially awkward guys.... I blend right in! We certainly know how to cheer on our team!
Glad to see you are still alive. After they let you in to that closed pub and you disappeared, I was worried you may have been Tarantino'd.
No sweat. I know the bar manager there and saw him inside. He let me in through the parking lot entrance and even gave me a beer after they closed at 9pm while I waited for my wife. Thanks again for the lift!
Hey guys, I'm going to send a link to this thread to the Blazers. If you haven't yet taken the time to thank them for last night you should. It's really special and unique how our favorite team has reached out to us. Last night once again demonstrated that we're not just a forum but a community. Rip City!
This is way cool! Thanks to the Blazers for giving us such a good game to attend and to Kris Koivisto for providing an awesome gift for our man @SlyPokerDog. There truly is none other than RIP CITY.
Well, if any Blazers brass reads this: Many thanks from this lifetime Portland resident and fan for the opportunity to participate in such a special atmosphere and experience. It's not hard to find a sports bar to watch a game in. It's not hard to get tickets to the Moda. It's not hard to join an online community of Blazer fans. But to combine all those, in a luxury suite, to attend one of the best games I've ever seen, through the generosity of the franchise we've all supported for decades...well honestly, it can't really get much better than that, now can it? Thank you Trail Blazers, for creating (what at least feels like now) a-once-in-a-lifetime experience for a bunch of crazy internet posters. Let's do it again soon!
Thank you BLAZERS!! It was an awesome game (thank you Dame) and being able to view it from the suite with this forum gang made it especially memorable. Much appreciated!
Off Topic: Some might remember the couple who were given the skateboard during a time out. Here's a good look at it for those who haven't seen this picture. Flipped over on the other side the grip tape has "Rip City" etched into it. Lucky couple who were gifted the board by the organization. I don't remember what their accomplishment was, maybe really long time season ticket holders? I was hoping they would have these boards for auction at the Ronald McDonald charity event this year, but nope. I wonder if maybe they are all spoken for and will be given away like they did last night.
Time to get the thread back up and runnin!!! Home? We had a private bathroom, We just took 5 minute rotations. One night stands like this are more like one hour stands anyhow. So this was a complete blast!!! To be the loudest suite on our half of the building was a testament to how hard core we are!!! We had Tankers and Homers in the same room all cheering as loud as we could for Lillard time and an incredible win!!!! A time to never forget partying with my fellow Zeros!!! Seeing as how the suites are, Next time, some how, some way, I think we need two suites next to each other....except then hazmat team may need to be be called in after we leave...
