So Denver trades us Nurk who is breaking out, might cause us to beat them for the 8th playoff spot and we got a first as well? are you friggin kidding me?
The salary hit next year is where Denver will feel it the most. Good trade by Denver, though. Nurk was near-cancerous with them.
Denver traded Nurkic, a first round pick, and the playoffs for Plumlee and a second rounder. The Boogie Cousins deal is looking slightly less terrible.
I really try to be a bit of a skeptic, but to take all of the factors into account, you can make that argument
One of the rare 'good for both teams' trades. Denver has been playing better as well. Plums fits their offensive scheme very well where Nurkic didn't.
I'm telling you, the girl, or the guy she was with, that rejected this nerd was a Blazers fan. No other way to explain his weird fetish of finding a way to shit on Portland every chance he gets. (he still thinks this was a good trade for Denver)
No. Just no. They traded a franchise caliber center AND a first round pick in a loaded draft for a fringe starter type. Not even close to fair value. Just because you have two BMWs doesn't mean you give one away for a corolla.
agree and it's symbioticas he's making life easier for Dame and IMO allowing a guy like Vonleh to develop and gain confidence
Nurkic is Bosnian. Jokic is Serbian. I'm not going to say there was specific bad blood between them causing the locker-room cancer, but... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian_genocide
Their offensive ratings are up and the gap when Jokic is out are very much diminished. For their system, Plumlee fits better whether he is the better player or not. Nurk is better here. Good for both.
I am of Serb extraction and my dad grew up in old "Yugoslavia", but my dad never ever spoke with any hatred towards Croats or other ethnic groups there (he had reason to as his mom and sis were murdered by them), however we knew some families growing up even here in the U.S. that did, it's sad but they have centuries and centuries of ugly history and atrocity over there with both sides taking turns as the "bad guys".
