I agree with Blue9, and I think maybe you're reading him wrong. Ideally, Alridge should be taking most of his shots down low, and working hard to get in the paint. But that tires him out, and we don't want him to get hurt or too sore. So if Aldridge can do that on any given night, but instead just chooses to practice his jumpers. However, now that the playoffs are here, he's bringing the hard banging down low game out when we need it.

I'm seeing a lot of shots go in the last two games... Low percentage shots that are falling, but the same shots nonetheless that people flip the frak out over during the regular season. Interesting.

I think it's a legitimate argument to say that he was coasting somewhat during the regular season. Even still, remember that he was the only starter who missed a game (13 games, actually).

If he continues to play even close to this throughout the playoffs, I will never say another unkind word about his penchant for jumpers in the regular season again.

    Series split 1-1
    game one
    Conley 16 pts, 5 reb, 11 ast
    Westbrook 23pts, 10reb, 5ast

    Game 2
    Conley 19pts, 7 reb, 12 ast
    Westbrook 29pts, 7reb, 8 ast

Playing well for sure, but not exactly shutting down Westbrook.

I am not trying to take credit for shit, did I outline the steps he needed to take to dominate yes, but I can guarantee you that so did his entire fucking coaching staff. It is really basketball 101 do not shoot a ton of 20 foot jumpers, get to the free throw line, and keep the defense honest with the three point shot. I am just thanking LA for listening and stepping his game up.

Do I deserve credit for knowing efficient basketball, nope, no one should get credit for pointing out the obvious. 20 foot jumpers are bad, shots in the paint that draw fouls, generate free throw attempts and put players in position to fight for offensive rebounds are good.

That's true for Game 2. But Game 1 he DOMINATED THE PAINT. And last night it was clear that he was catatonic and wasn't going to miss - when that happens you just gotta ride it. Given his Game 1 performance I have no doubt that he would have done something different (go inside or pass) if his shot wasn't falling.

I do think Stotts held him out too long in the 4th and that's why he missed his last few jumpers.

If he is going to coast at least mix in some three point jumpers that way his game is a mix of 15-18 foot jumpers and threes during the regular season.

Did you even watch the last game? Half his points came from long jumpers.

Well thanks for trying to take credit for what everyone knew already. Glad you cleared that up.

Agreed, but LMA is what he is at this point. People have to just accept that he's primarily a mid-range (though elite) shooter, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

No he is not shutting him down but Westbrook is barely shooting 40% and has 8 turnovers to go with his 13 assists. Westbrook is too good to stop completely but he is making him work his ass off while staying out of foul trouble and facilitating well for his team, which can be seen by his double digit assist total each night.

Plus his team now has home court advantage taking a game from OKC on the road.

Yes his shots were falling from 15-18 feet he was not taking 20-22 foot jumpers like he did routinely during the regular season. Plus he still took 8 shots in the paint a significant improvement over the regular season.

Were you watching the shots he was hitting? They weren't wide open. They were fadeaways with Asik and Howard right in his face. Low percentage shots that were going in. Low percentage shots that you were crucifying him for taking in the regular season.

Seriously B-Roy why even bother this this troll? He is the wife of Christian Bale in American Hustle to a T. Just let him think he's got it all figured out, when the rest of the forum knows he's on Pluto.

LMA has talked, after both playoffs games, about how tired he's been afterwards. The way he is playing right now would take a toll on him during the regular season, especially during stretches of 4 games in 5 nights.

Some of us mentioned in the regular season that it is impossible to know if he would actually be more effective for the entire regular season if he had to fight as hard and bang every night.

    Yeah,

    Check this shot out:

If Aldridge missed this shot cmeese would be asking to trade him for David Lee.
