There's an argument to be made that the non-teenage people working at Wal-mart would--without Wal-mart's existence--be working at local small businesses that would have space to exist if Wal-mart didn't undercut their pricing. The follow-on to that is an implication that increasing the minimum wage might in fact raise prices at Wal-mart, but only to a level that people would already be paying at other businesses in a hypothetical Wal-mart-less world.
Corporations and Corporatist government are the ones who have convinced citizens to be against a minimum wage and any tax increases with another trickle down lie.
Warning^^^^^the link shows what is left of the poor girl's arm. Not pretty, yeah that arm is a goner. What is wrong with this world? I've wondered since the cops blew up a guy with a robot.
Lots of people in here blindly support the police while at the same time hating government. Well you can't have it both ways people. You can't on one hand say that you hate the government but love the enforcers of government. You think that the government is coming to take your guns away? Well who the hell do you think is going to do it if it ever happens? It'll be your local police department, the National Guard, and the military.
If only that family wasn't so stingy. They made 50 billion in profit last year. Not revenue. Profit. Both of the children got checks for 19 million. I'm all for capitalism, but holy fuck, they can afford to pay their employees more. They wouldn't be happy with 49 billion? They don't even need to raise the hourly wage, they could give them end of year bonuses, overtime, etc.
Holy Crap! What a lack of perception! Most of those jobs at Walmart ought to be jobs kids get to learn how to begin being productive. Man! It might even make it tolerable to go in the damn place if some smart kids where working there that could answer a simple question about where and what. America needs real jobs for people producing things of worth, so that they can earn a decent wage. Moving junk from the third world through a tilt up store to a crowd mostly there to keep warm is not a job that is designed to provide a living wage. Shouldn't be, never will be.
Drain the swamp is a reflection of the "D.C. Swamp" not a state government. A state, even if corrupt, can have localized voters that can make a difference. There is a big difference
Agreed but I don't want our federal government to force businesses to pay a certain wage. The states can decide on that with the localized voters. There have been many locals of small towns forcing the city council and mayor to not allow a big box retailer in their town. Happens all the time.
Shamelessly copied from a comment on a Yahoo Article: 'Twas the night before the election, and in the Liberal House Not a creature was working, not even their spouse; No stockings were hung by the chimney with care, because they were hoping a Hillary Victory would soon be there; The Hillary voters were nestled all snug in their beds, While continued visions of free cell phones danced in their heads; And mamma with her free healthcare, and unemployment benefits with no cap, Had just settled down for another free winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter. Away to the TV they flew like a flash, Flipped on CNN hoping for more free cash. Trump Won, please, say it aint so Hillary didn’t shatter the glass ceiling, oh no, When, what to their wondering eyes should appear, But a sign from Trump, they have to get a job next year, With one election, so inspiring and quick, America took away their Misses Saint Nick. No more huge taxes for the working and spending pretty much insane, and they began whistling and shouting and calling people names; "Now, Hillary! Now, Obama! Now, Franken and Reid! On, Pelosi! On Feinstein! On, Baucus and Biden! Out of Washington! We’re building a wall! Get the fuck out of here, we just fired you all!" -@TheGrinch And a buddy of mine sent me these: You can't get any funnier than that!
I don't think what the workers in Alabama get paid is any of my business. I would like to hear they are all working though.
Isn't the flow of jobs to low-wage areas something that Trump voters are all upset about? If you are a laid-off worker in Ohio, does it make you happier to be unemployed because your job went to Alabama instead of Mexico? barfo
Yes, stupid question. If I found out the dog I had that disappeared when I was a kid was found and taken care of by a loving family I'd feel better than if I found out he starved to death.
Fuckin disgusting... http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/trum..._us_5839ffcbe4b000af95ee61bd?section=politics
How much would it cost the government to house and feed those people if they had no job at all? Be careful what you wish for.
