I don't know if Wade was the face of the franchise yet. He had only been there one year, he was 3rd in scoring on the team @ 16.2 ppg. Eddie Jones had been there for 3 seasons before Wade even showed up, averaging 17.4, 18.3, and 18.5 ppg. Lamar was averaging 17.1 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1 spg, .9 bpg. I think what might have separated Wade was the playoffs. I don't know if Wade was untouchable at that point.
No i do remember espn quoting pat riley saying that wade was definately not going to be involved in any trades at all, even for Shaq
i noe the mavs offered a trade with josh howard who is playing really good rite noe but th elkaers didnt want to trade in the same conference thefore senduing him to miami. I really wished that they tried to get jermaine oneal from the pacers
