Pretty interesting, but it turns out they created a marble veneer that went over an aluminum honeycomb for structural stability. No word on the gold-plated faucets...
Yeah, the material sciences these days are creating some useful man make stuff. Joining it in a structure is often the challenge though, while still retaining strength without add weight.
Actually the most pleasing feed back I have received about the MarAzul is not about Naval Architecture stuff or that which you find in that course of study. A lady in Marina Del Rey summed it up the best I suppose, after asking me several questions about the boat and one of my techie answers, she cut me short. She said this is not boat design with this boat, this is Art Work! I am pleased to say, she is but one of many with similar comments. In the end that part of the design work did indeed take the most study, to lay down some principles of pleasing ascetics where boats are concerned. How to get the Sparkman and Stephens look in a modern cold mold composite design. I suspect that if one is achieving Art then it is the ultimate in design and craftsmanship. For those of you that favor feel over logic, then you maybe correct in final goal. Where Art is ultimate expression of feeling, it is the then also the ultimate expression perfect logic and craftsmanship. You can feel it when it is pleasing.
This is one of the more honest acceptable takes on here from some one who probably doesn't agree with her ideology. I generally assume that people who have different ideologies from me are morons also but I give them the chance to prove so. The rest of the clown show in here who wants to make fun of her for being young, compare her to Cuba, Venezuela, Lenin and the Taliban are just practicing character assassination and promoting the type of propaganda that they claim to hate. There do have some clever meme's though so there is that.
Unfortunately for some, we are still allowed to vote. Sometimes we vote for people who have a different idea on how to spend our tax dollars. Rarely, we actually get someone to vote for who we really like. Scary stuff. I’m lumping in all corporate dems and gop in the first section. Bombs creating death showers Subsidized corn syrup Privatization of prisons Drug war Space lasers Vs Food and shelter for the poor Healthcare Education Infrastructure Stuff that, in our opinion will actually make America great again. Maybe we are wrong, and without the largest prison population in the history of the world our economy will crumble. I say let’s give it a shot.
Not sure about the ICE situation, but I see nothing wrong with protecting our borders. Just do that instead of protecting Israel’s borders, easy peasy.
Adolf Hitler was a university graduate with an impressive IQ. Not comparing this girl to Hitler, but placing too much emphasis on one's intelligence is fruitless. Less intelligent people seem to adapt to their shortcomings by getting shit done, maximizing their output. It's a tradeoff. There's a happy medium in there somewhere, I'm sure. I always hear people bitching about 'dumb' people. Well not everybody is born highly intelligent. It seems rather elitist to me to run around calling people stupid based on one's own (usually bloated) sense of intelligence. Same as judging based on sex or creed, its an inherent trait. Everybody is capable of contributing in some way regardless of intelligence. Laziness and stubbornness are the true culprits, lack of intelligence is their scapegoat. Random as fuck, sorry.
Since “moron” is used quite liberally in this forum (and I admit to using it freely here and everywhere else), I thought I’d pass along the definition (as defined by past generations) I have found to be most accurate.......“More intelligent than idiots and imbeciles, morons were especially troublesome because they could pass as normal”. So if anyone wonders why I use that label on the current occupant of the White House............. (Yeah, I could have left that last sentence out but I have a track record to preserve....)
Makes the point that education or achievements in life do not prevent one from possibly being a moron.
https://plot.ly/create/?fid=governing:963#/ I am not sure whom you want to spend more on education. It seems all the States are taking a whack at it. Some large and some less by as much as a 1/3. I don't think I have heard that anyone is doing outstanding. Perhaps it is the public school model that is impediment to Great. They all seem to have giant other expenditure of a known amount for unknown things.
umm, it seems this indicates a lack of understanding by those that apply the label. Perhaps the job description of various people, if they were tasked to maximize their assets, would serve as a clue to inadequacy of the label system. The US Navy did this for years better than any organization I know about. Of course that might blow the hell out the education makes all equal theory.
I called myself a moron 3 or 4 times yesterday. I actually told one of our estimators to tell her customer "the bodyman says he is sorry for being a moron" I repaired the bedside of a giant dodge dually pickup. It had one orange marker light and one red light on either bedside. I checked before I reinstalled them and STILL switched them somehow. Anyone of any intelligence and any income can be a moron. To me anyway, maybe I'm just being a moron debating the word moron.
so, are we socializing intelligence now? Everyone gets to be a moron! Perhaps. It is certainly broken in many parts of the country.
Can't embed this video from vice but it's worth a watch. https://video.vice.com/en_us/video/...asio-cortez-everyone/5b5f7bd5be4077398d5ed415
I haven't really looked into her that much but she is definitely ignorant of some extremely important issues kinda like Sarah Palin was ya know. This is pretty hilarious:
