What are you opinions on the "shake up"? Mariners released Texiera after he has one bad outing even though he has actually been one of the better relievers in the Bullpen for Sean White that has been a below average guy. Doesn't the front office notice Mariners need a bigger change than just swapping guy in the organization?
I lol'd at this 'change'. I'm questioning this organization and their commitment to winning. Acquiring Cliff Lee was blossom until they realized snatching a pitcher is deemed useless with such a shitty batting lineup. Getting some bats to win games is starting to look like the trend for this decade in accordance to winning. With Cliff Lee--in all likelyhood-- leaving, he should be the main chip. Hell, i'm even open to the idea of trading Chone Figgins, someone whom i'm enamored with. Cliff Lee + Vargas SHOULD get us a really nice bat like Gonzalez. Gonzalez isn;t enough, I'm even all for trading the farm (yes, even Ackley) to get Justin Upton or another (mid) 1st tier-(upper) 2nd tier 5-tool player. Also, I REALLY regret losing Brandon Morrow.
Mariners with a win! 20 wins finally! The team has been getting run support since Milton Bradley has comeback, but there is still a need for a real DH unless Sweeney keeps up his .300+ hitting. Griffey has been merely useless and really hasn't played in ages. I wish he would retire or M's would cut ties to open up that roster spot.
2 in a row! Break'em up! Ichiro walk-off hit. This has to be the first game the M's have won in extra innings or in 1-run fashion that was settle so late in the game. I truly can't remember another win that they got from late inning heroics.
Mariners just took a series from the Twins w/ a 4-1 victory today. This is the same Twins team that just swept the Rangers. This should be interesting to see if Mariners can get shit together and catch up to the rest of the pack....only 6.0 GB now. Not bad considering how shitty they have been thus far. Source
