Well hopefully he would see how Nate got fired; therefor what he did wasn't right for the organization.

That is my feeling as well. And it has nothing to do with Nate. I just think our head coach should be more well rounded and exposed to different basketball minds and philosophies. Not to say Kaleb doesn't have a good basketball mind himself, but at his age he lacks the experience of the others.

I was not aware of Elston Turner's coaching background. He intrigues me.

    (also in the other thread)
A little info on the most anonymous member of our final four--Steve Clifford--from a March 2011 Orlando Sentinel article:

Nate lasted 7 years. Longest tenured Blazers coach unless I'm mistaken.

I like him as well. In fact, he's my second choice.

As long as Kaleb practices his arm-folding technique he should be in like Flynn.

Yes, Ramsay was longer. Nate was second, which is still a travesty

What that he wasn't kept to take over Ramsay's spot?

How much experience did Adelman have when he took the job back in '89?

A few years before that he coached at a CC in Salem IIRC.

I think he's suggesting that Nate was not the 2nd best coach for the Blazers and his tenure lasted too long.

I would rank the non-interim Blazers coaches (that I personally remember) as follows:

    1. Jack Ramsay
    2. Rick Adelman
    3. Mike Dunleavy (good coach or just good players? I could be persuaded to swap #3 and #4)
    4. Nate McMillan
    5. PJ Carlesimo
    6. Maurice Cheeks
    7. Mike Schuler

Edit: Boy, I don't remember Schuler winning COTY. I just remember the players hating him.
