First Round Steal: Wayne Simien- An absolute monster at Kansas. He will do anything you ask for. He will be a big, strong PF in the NBA who will contribute right away.

Second Round Steal: Juwad Williams- He started over Marvin Williams last year, and can light you up at anytime with his range.

Best Player in the draft:Danny Granger- This guy is going to be a start in the league for a long time. He has superb skills, and scouts are absolutely in love with his skills. I think in five years, we will look back on this draft and say that whoever picked him scored big time.

Draft Bust: Charlie Vilanueva- he is to lazy, he wont become a good player unless he works hard, which no one has seen yet. He shouldn't have come out, he simply wasn't ready for the NBA.

Best Dunker: Gerald Green- did any1 see the Mcdonalds Dunk Contest? He threw down some VC like dunks out there with ease.

Best Defender: Ike Diogu- His wingspan is amazing for someone who is 6'9 he's an exceptional defender.

Best Shooter: Salim Stoudemire- just look at the numbers and you'll see that Dickie V was on drugs calling JJ Reddick the better shooter.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Voodoo Child:</div><div class="quote_post">Who knows, he's so raw right now and such an unknown that it's unfair to really put any expectations on him, which is why I think there's a good chance that the people who see him as a #3 pick will be disappointed at what he ends up doing in his career. It's too easy to get excited about High School talent. I remember when DeShawn Stevenson was Michael Jordan part two. If I had to make a guess, I'd say he'll be a starter, maybe even a team's first option, but the Tracy McGrady comparisons are a little off. Do you see where I'm coming from now?</div>
Yeah that makes sense. It's really hit or miss.

The 1st Round Steal Of the Draft: Rachad McCants

The dude's gonna drop because of his supposed attitude problems, but I just have a feeling in my gut that once he hits the big time, he's going to shed that reputation and become a very valuable scorer.

The 2nd Round Steal Of the Draft: Julius Hodge

He's just so versatile. And good too.

The Best Player Of the Draft: Marvin Williams

Andrew Bogut is only going number one because he's a center.

The Bust Of the Draft: Sean May

I agree whole-heartedly with 44Thrilla. When Sean May hits the NBA, whichever team drafts him is going to demand that he cut down the 64% body fat. Once that's gone, so is he. Without his flab and some comparitively-scrawny college players to push around, this 6'9" forward is going to fall off the radar.

The Best Dunker Of the Draft: Gerald Green

After a few years, once this kid has put on some more muscle, I can see him pulling off highlight-reel dunks similar to Kobe's.

The Best Defender Of the Draft: Ike Diogu

When the opposing power forward looks at his height, he's going to immediate try to shoot the ball over him. Unfortunately for him, Diogu's insanely-long arms are going to catch him off guard.

The Best Shooter Of the Draft: Salim Stoudamire

He shoots lights-out. It's just too bad that he's going to have to let that talent go to waste when he takes over the point guard spot.

The 1st Round Steal Of the Draft: Ike Diogu, probably wil end up being one of the 5-10 best players in the draft, but wont be picked till the late teens, early 20's
The 2nd Round Steal Of the Draft: Julius Hodge, people forget he was the ACC player of the year as a junior
The Best Player Of the Draft: Marvin Williams, freakishly athletic, nice stroke
The Bust Of the Draft: Martynas A., as a 7 footer couldnt even dominate against fellow teenagers, something guys like Bynum and Blatche did do
The Best Dunker Of the Draft: Nate Robinson, 5 foot 8 with major hops
The Best Defender Of the Draft: Ike Diogu, amazing length and shot blocking ability
The Best Shooter Of the Draft: Salim Stoudamire, best college shooter since trajan Langdon, and will prbly end up havin a career like him

It sounds like you haven't seen Sean May work out. He's a lot more athletic than you think. In fact, he tested faster than some of the draft's guards when speed, agility, and strength were tested in Chicago.

Maybe it's just me, but I've been seeing him in the #9-15 range in most mock drafts recently. If Vazquez is off of the board, he makes a lot of sense in either Golden State or Los Angeles.

Exactly what my boy said above. You HAVE NOT seen May lately then. He dropped down to 255 (amazing for him) and added back 15 pounds of pure muscle. His times in the lane agility and 3/4 court sprint were higher than every HS guard and several college guards. Plus his bench was in the Top 5 (which fat doesnt bench press) and his verticle for a guy his size was great. Topped Diogu, Simien, Taft and a couple other tier forwards. So, you better re-evaluate.

The 1st Round Steal Of the Draft- Rashad McCants/G/North Carolina
attitude be damned, the kid has a misunderstood fire, ala Rasheed Wallace, only this kid is not afraid to straight take over. If he gets drafted by a team who lets him play his game and do what he does best (score) he's gonna make every team who passed on him pay.

The 2nd Round Steal Of the Draft-Rawle Marshall/G/Oakland
If it weren't for a mild injury, this kid was tearing new a@$#@$holes in Chicago. If he could add some weight to his skinny frame, he could be the kind of guy to put up numbers in this leauge. He's already being slept on, dont you sleep too.

The Best Player Of the Draft-Danny Granger/F/New Mexico
I saw enough of him that I'm convinced. There are so few 5 tool players in the leauge. He is. Scores, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks. If you need one he can get it, and potential be damned, right NOW, he's the best player in this draft.

The Bust Of the Draft-Chris Paul/G/Wake Forest
I said it 2 years ago when Jason Williams came out. Granted he got hurt, BUT, his rookie year he had a LOT of issues. Same goes for Paul. I watch just about every ACC game each season and he got away with a lot of things he wont in the NBA. I just dont see him being what everyone thinks. I will label him a bust, because a Top 3 pick HAS to be a superstar. Paul might be servicable, a good starting role guy, a solid starter, but not anything more.

The Best Dunker Of the Draft-Hakim Warrick/F/Syracuse
No explanation neccesary. Did you watch any Orange games this season or watch Sports Center ever?

The Best Defender Of the Draft-Joey Graham/F/Oklahoma St.
Not only is he fast enough to sut down a point guard, his strength and length can lock down a power forward. If you have the size speed and body to guard from the 1-4 positions, you find me someone better?

The Best Shooter Of the Draft-Salim Stoudamire/G/Arizona
All I gotta say is UCLA. Ask them if he can shoot. And anyone who is a 5-11 shooting guard and can get his shot off over 6-7 guys AND be doing it at an over 50% clip. Are you serious?

The 1st Round Steal Of the Draft: Wayne Simien- He has the scoring tools to be great in the NBA- he's got a shooting touch from the perimiter, and everyone if forgetting how good of a college player he really was. He's undersized as a PF but his strength allows him to do what he wants in the paint.

The 2nd Round Steal Of the Draft: Alan Anderson- I'm surprised he's still a 2nd rounder in most mocks after how good he just did at Chicago. He has good size for a 2 guard(6'6) and rebounds pretty good for a guard. Whoever drafts Anderson is getting 1st round talent.

The Best Player Of the Draft: Danny Granger- I still don't understand how a high schooler is projected to be picked over Granger in Gerald Green. Granger can basically do it all. Unlike Green, Granger actually plays pretty good defense. If I were the Blazeres, I'd take Granger over Green in a heartbeat!

The Bust Of the Draft: Channing Frye- If this draft actually had some decent big men, then Frye would be probably be a 2nd rounder. Frye will get abused by NBA big men because Frye lacks body strength which is greatly needed to be able and bang in the paint.

The Best Dunker Of the Draft: Hakim Warrick- Ad KicksDaddy said- if you watched ESPN you know what I'n talking about.

The Best Defender Of the Draft: Danny Granger- Like I already said- Granger has all the tools to be a shutdown defender at the next level. I basically can't wait to see this kid play in the NBA!

The Best Shooter Of the Draft: Salim Stoudamire- No one else really sticks out in my mind. Salim shot 50% from beyond and is only 6'0!

1st Round Steal-Chris Taft, I believe he is bombing so that he will go to NJ where he can play close to home with J-Kidd, Vinsanity, and Richard Jefferson.
    2nd Round Steal-Ryan gomes
Best Player of The Draft- Gerald Green, though I'm tmepted to say Granger
Bust of The Draft- Marvin Williams
Best Dunker- Gerald Green or Hakim Warrick
Best Defender- Joey Graham, he will be the next Ron Artest without the craziness
Best Shooter- Salim Stoudamire, if you can shoot like this guy, you will get playing time.

Taft isn't just doing badly in the workouts. He had a very below average season for Pittsburgh. Was he bombing during the season so that he'd go to New Jersey?

I'm not gonna argue this one out with you guys, because I feel too strongly to be budged. His "athleticism" will not help him to avoid the "bust" label. Just watch and see for yourselves.

Yes, Chevon Troutman is in the draft. He's a 23 year old who was a Senior last season. He has an outside shot of being a second round pick, but he'll ultimately be held back by his height (6-7, Power Forward) and his age (he'll be 24 a few weeks after the season starts). He tried out with the Washington Redskins of the NFL earlier this year but was cut from that as well. Carl Krauser declared for the draft, yet he has the option to go back. He's 24 years old already, but he had a terrible Chicago, so it's hard to tell whether or not he'll stay in. John Lucas, Jr. is too undersized to play in the NBA, and his performance at Chicago was nothing to write home about either.

I will argue with you, because I watched him myself, in person, saw the body change, seen him get measured up in just his skivies and watched him tear apart guards down the floor and "supposedly" more athletic forwards in jumping and benching. Your reasons for him being a bust, read again. 64% body fat! (I know it's an exageration but......) he actually was pinched at less the 10. And without the flab? Kid is ripped right now. We are not talking about "comparitivly smaller competition". He destroyed, ready for this list of players.........

    Sheldon Williams 6-9 260
    Eric Williams 6-9 270
    Elton Brown 6-8 280
    Jason Frasier 6-10 250
    Jared Homan 6-10 255
    Paul Davis 6-11 250

Smaller competition huh? M'k, Well bewteen ACC foes and the guys he murdered in the Tournament, and this doesnt even include Randolph Morris and Josh Boone from UCONN who UNC also beat on and Sean May lit up. I'm not saying he's a future All Star, but if you are gonna call someone a potential bust. At least make sense while you do it. As I said, you have not personally seen him during camp and workouts, I have, so I know.

Anyone who saw several UNC games must have seen that May has intense desire and work ethic. It was clear he would apply that to pre-draft conditioning. Evidently,Frye did likewise. Several other players have floundered in he post season or merely got exposed as overhyped marginal talent.

Rd 1 Steal- I want to say Ike Diogu, but he will go higher than most think, leaving May,Simien and Blatche as the steals. May + Simien have real SKILL to go with nice power, big time RBD guys. Blatche, close to 7-0 has pretty broad skills, and while HE gets chopped for his perimeter game (too much of it) he developed skills, which if he was a Euro would have someone saying he's top 5. Note the RBD totals, you don't avg 15 being soft.

Rd 2 Steal- I think Salim will be at the end of rd 1,will be a starting PG in a few years. If he is in rd 2,a steal. Otherwise,Dwayne Jones who is a tall RBD/shotblocks guy. Brandon Bass will be another bargain.

    Best Player-Gerald Green,though,as a Center,Bogut is " Most Valuable".
While these are HS stats they say something- 13RBD...more than Bogut or Simien
7 assists, about even with Felton and Deron Williams. 60% on 3's,which is 08% beyond Salim S's Ncaa leading 52%,and He scored 33 per game, about Oscar Robertson's career average in college. I saw him do a dunk that would be pretty hard for Vince Carter or J Rich to top. Raw? what part of all that should he have done better?????? It may take a year for him to refine the details, yet it appears that he's ahead of a lot of NBA veterans already in many skills. I give big respect also to Diogu and Granger.

The Bust- Martynas Andri-whatever,upside? the upside part comes when Ben Wallace smacks the kid upside the head and sends him 4 rows into the seats. zero progress+zero potential. Marvin Williams,as the consensus 2nd pick, has really displayed a game with huge holes in it,and a rather carefree attitde toward D. He seems a guy with charachter, smarts, buthas to LEARN his "A" game-AND bring it. I saw a lot of his "C-" game,a bit of his "B-" game, and if that's what he's got in 2-3 years......
Taft didn't get the nod,as he's now valued more in line with the player he is....and if he gives any effort,he still is way ahead of Starvin Martynas.

    Best Dunk,Green,with Warrick a challenger
Best D, Diogu,by a hair over Granger and Deron williams. Rd 2 - Orien Greene,Dwayne Jones,Jason Maxiel will earn jobs due to D. I think A Bynum someday will be a quality defender

Best shooter- TIE- Salim + Green. the numbers say so,both seemed to hit 75% when I saw them.

I just realized I never filled this out.

The 1st Round Steal Of the Draft: Wayne Simien
He was excellent at Kansas and averaged a double double. He is beast on the boards and is a very talented player. He is built big and whichever team drafts him is going to have a great player who can start in his rookie year.

The 2nd Round Steal Of the Draft: Julius Hodge
Hodge was a great scorer and a great leader ar NC State. He was the reason they were in the Big Dance. He is a nice shooter and is going to be a nice player if he gets the chance to play.

The Best Player Of the Draft: Chris Paul
He seems like a great point guard and I never saw a problem with him at Wake Forest. Andrew Bogut is just being picked first because you can't teach height and Marvin Williams is just a young guy with a lot of potential. Chris Paul is proven and is going to be a great point guard in a few years.

The Bust Of the Draft: Fran Vazquez Something just tells me this guy is going to be a bust. I think he will be drafted and then ride the bench somewhere. He reminds me of Darko and I'm not to crazy about him. Correct me if I'm wrong but I have heard that he is all potential.

The Best Dunker Of the Draft: Gerald Green I saw him in the High School Dunk Contest that they show on ESPN and he was pulling off some sick dunks. This guy is really explosive and he is the type of player who raises ticket sales with his great dunks.

The Best Defender Of the Draft: Danny Granger I have heard that Granger was a great shut down defender and that he can guard guys bigger then him. Another great defender in this draft is Daniel Ewing but he is probably going to be drafted in the middle of the second round.

The Best Shooter Of the Draft: Salim Stoudamire Salim is a great three point shooter and could provide that deep threat for a team off the bench. I think he will play a Hedo Turkoglu type of role where he is mainly used for his perimeter shot. Expect him to go off the board in the early part of the second round.

Interesting logic, Bogut is 'proven' more than any other player in the draft, both at college and international level. If you can't teach height, why is Randolph Morris going to be lucky to be a first rounder?

People can make excuses for Bogut all they want - I expect them to, as he's a white seven footer - but at the end of the day, he was the best player in college basketball last season, bar none.
