    when i sit in contemplation
    of the human situation
i often gain a certain sense of pride
our achievements are many and mighty
the evidence could never be denied
but my thoughts are always taken
    my reverie is shaken
by a tragedy that happened long before
    when roamed through the land
    beings awesome, and grand
    the fabulous dinosaur

they were creatures in a manner quite reptilian
in their unique and stylish ways
their numbers could be reckoned in the millions
but theres zero of these heroes in the world today...

they had music arts and fashion
    they had dinosauric passion
and i bet theyd be enraged and mortified
cuz when their mentioned today, it is only to say
their brains were small and they died

now perhaps an asteroid that mother earth could not avoid became the agent of their premature demise
they say that these things can happen
    who are we to criticize?
when we will spend almost any price to have the ultimate device, that will ensure total global suicide
i would venture instead, that the humanoid head, is where the smaller brain resides

and when were gone our works will start to crumble
    until nothing can be found
in 10 million years some other guy will stumble
onto our fossils and some asshole will begin to expound....

on a scientific study, with his cockroach science buddy
the evidence could never be denied
they were big dumb and slow, couldnt go with the flow
their brains were small and they died

dad tought me this song years ago, by a fellow named mark graham
