Anderson helps No. 14 UCF pull away from UConn for 49-24 win

Otis Anderson got a little down on himself after committing a costly turnover in the third quarter.

The freshman bounced back in a hurry.

Anderson had a spectacular 65-yard touchdown run in the final period, helping No. 14 Central Florida pull away from UConn for a 49-24 victory on Saturday.

No. 14 UCF rolls Temple 45-19, heads to War on I-4 unbeaten

There were so many reasons for UCF coach Scott Frost to worry about his team's focus this week.

With a huge game looming, playing an improving Temple team in a stadium where the empty seats outnumbered the filled ones by about a 3-1 ratio on a chilly, gray day had all the makings of a tricky spot for the Knights.

Then Frost saw his wide receivers and defensive backs warming up at Lincoln Financial Field with their shirts off in the 40-degree temperatures.

"I knew right then our team's mindset was in the right place," Frost said.

McKenzie Milton threw four touchdown passes and ran for a score as No. 14 Central Florida comfortably took care of business against Temple, winning 45-19 Saturday to stay unbeaten heading into a division title showdown with rival USF.

Memphis defeats SMU 66-45 to claim AAC West Division title

Neither wind, nor rain or even a 57-minute delay for lightning was going to keep the No. 18 Memphis Tigers from hoisting the West Division trophy for the American Athletic Conference.

A balanced offensive attack and explosive scoring, including 21 fourth-quarter points allowed the Tigers to pull away from SMU for a 66-45 victory Saturday afternoon, sending the Tigers (9-1, 6-1, No. 21 CFP) to the conference's title game on Dec. 2.

No. 17 Memphis dominates East Carolina with 70-13 victory

Nothing from last week or a championship showdown next week was going to distract No. 17 Memphis.

And they sent that message to East Carolina almost immediately on Saturday.

"We only had one focus, coming out and finishing our run," Memphis coach Mike Norvell said.

The Tigers dominated the Pirates 70-13 in preparation for next Saturday's American Athletic Conference championship game against No. 13 Central Florida in Orlando.

No. 12 UCF captures AAC title over No. 16 Memphis in 2 OTs

Central Florida needed another shootout to keep its unbeaten season alive. And when it was over the Knights found out their coach won't be around much longer.

It has been quite a couple of weeks for UCF, but all things considered, the Knights probably could not have gone much better.

In one of the wildest FBS conference championship games ever, the 12th-ranked Knights captured the American Athletic Conference title with a 62-55 victory over No. 16 Memphis in double overtime.

Milton powers No. 10 UCF to 34-27 Peach Bowl win over Auburn

McKenzie Milton wanted to throw a blanket of 13 wins and no losses over the College Football Playoff.

After Milton and Central Florida capped a perfect season, he suggested it was time to respect the Knights, even if they weren't invited to the playoff.

Milton threw two touchdown passes and ran for 116 yards with another touchdown, leading No. 10 UCF to a 34-27 Peach Bowl win over No. 7 Auburn on Monday.

No. 21 UCF extends winning streak to 14 with rout of UConn

No. 21 UCF has a new coaching staff -- and an offense that looks very similar to the one that helped the Knights go undefeated a year ago.

McKenzie Milton threw for 346 yards and tied a career high with five touchdowns as the self-proclaimed defending national champions routed UConn 56-17 on Thursday night to extend the longest winning streak in the nation to 14 games.

East Carolina's Colby Gore taken to hospital after helmet-to-helmet hit

East Carolina cornerback Colby Gore has been taken to the hospital for evaluation after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit while being blocked during the first half of Saturday's game against North Carolina.

Gore was hurt when UNC tailback Antonio Williams leveled him with a hard block downfield on a pass play with 5:02 left in the second quarter. Gore lay motionless on the ground, and officials ejected Williams after a replay review of the hit.

Houston offense shines in 45-18 win over Arizona.

Houston quarterback D'Eriq King and the rest of the Cougars' offense made it a miserable homecoming for Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin.

King threw for four touchdowns and rushed for two more as the Cougars hammered Arizona 45-18 on Saturday, dropping the Wildcats to 0-2 in Sumlin's first season.

UCF LB Demetreius Mayes Jr. faces charge of sexual battery to physically helpless person

UCF linebacker Demetreius Mayes Jr. was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sexual battery to a physically helpless person, according to arrest records.

Mayes, a freshman from Miami, was immediately suspended from all football-related activities, according to UCF coach Josh Heupel.

"From what we know so far on this matter I'm upset and disappointed," Heupel said in a statement. "This has no place in our program. We are focused on ensuring that we provide compassion and support for everyone outside our program that has been affected by this."

Milton accounts for 6 TDs, No. 13 UCF routs Pitt 45-14

No. 13 UCF is unbeaten and getting better.

That's what's most important to coach Josh Heupel right now. Not whether Saturday's 45-14 rout of Power 5 conference opponent Pittsburgh sent a message to the College Football Playoff selection committee or skeptics who question how good the Knights are because of their schedule.
