Milton, No. 12 UCF beats SMU 48-20 for 18th straight win

    Unbeaten and barely tested.

No. 12 UCF won again by double digits Saturday night, continuing to build a resume the Knights hope will be worthy of consideration for a College Football Playoff berth in December.

McKenzie Milton threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns, and the defending American Athletic Conference champions extended the nation's longest winning streak to 18 games with a 48-20 victory over SMU on Saturday night.

King throws for 413 yards to lead Houston past Navy 49-36

For 30 minutes, Navy went touchdown for touchdown with high-powered Houston. Their confidence soaring, the Midshipmen went into the locker room at halftime poised to pull off a huge upset.

Few teams, however, can keep up with D'Eriq King and the mighty Cougars offense. Certainly not Navy, which was buried under a barrage of big plays and TDs in Houston's 49-36 victory Saturday.

Without Milton, No. 10 UCF beats ECU 37-10 for 20th straight

No. 10 UCF didn't have its Heisman Trophy hopeful, so the Knights' opportunistic defense kept taking the ball from East Carolina and giving it to their backup quarterback.

Darriel Mack Jr. stepped in for McKenzie Milton and rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown, and UCF forced five turnovers in beating East Carolina 37-10 for its 20th straight victory.

Milton throws 3 TDs, No. 9 Temple holds off Temple 52-40

No. 9 UCF only knows one way to answer questions about where it stands among the elite teams in college football -- keep winning.

The defending American Athletic Conference champions remained unbeaten Thursday night, pulling away from Temple late for a 52-40 victory that extended the nation's longest winning streak and gave the Knights (8-0, 5-0) sole possession of first place in the AAC East Division.

Milton accounts for 3 TDs, No. 11 UCF beats Navy 35-24

-- No. 11 UCF is becoming predictable as the Knights pursue another undefeated season.

The defending American Athletic Conference champions keep on winning while insisting they aren't listening to chatter about whether they will be deserving of a berth in the College Football Playoff if they remain unbeaten when the four-team field is picked in December.

Now, coach Josh Heupel and his players say they're turning their focus to No. 25 Cincinnati, which comes to Florida next week for a crucial AAC test.

A victory over the Bearcats will clinch a spot in the conference championship game.

"At the end of the day, if you're doing it right inside of your program, each game becomes bigger," Heupel said Saturday after McKenzie Milton threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third to key a 35-24 victory over Navy that extended the nation's longest winning streak to 22 games.

Milton shines, No. 11 UCF routs No. 19 Cincinnati 38-13

The college football spotlight isn't too bright for UCF.

The 11th-ranked Knights feel they are one of the best teams in the country and welcome any opportunity to strut to their stuff on a grand stage.

McKenzie Milton threw for 268 yards and accounted for four touchdowns Saturday night, helping the defending American Athletic Conference champions remain unbeaten and extend the nation's longest winning streak to 23 games with a 38-13 rout of No. 19 Cincinnati.

No. 8 UCF remains unbeaten, but loses QB Milton in 38-10 win

McKenzie Milton's teammates crowded around the injured UCF quarterback, some kneeling in prayer and others offering comforting words.

"Our guys care deeply about everybody on our football team, and certainly McKenzie," coach Josh Heupel said after the eighth-ranked Knights rebounded from losing their leader to an apparent right knee injury to finish a 38-10 rout of intrastate rival South Florida on Friday.

Mack shines, No. 7 UCF beats Memphis 56-41 for AAC title

Unbeaten UCF updated its sparkling resume with an impressive come-from-behind victory over Memphis in the American Athletic Conference title game.

Now the seventh-ranked Knights (12-0, No. 8 CFP), who proclaimed themselves national champions last January after finishing as the only undefeated team in the FBS, will see if repeating as AAC champs and having the nation's-longest winning streak are good enough to get them into the College Football Playoff.

`There's been a national conversation for 11 months since UCF won the Peach Bowl and claimed a championship," athletic director Danny White said after Saturday's 56-41 victory over Memphis.
