Who could/would deal for Simons? Atlanta Hawks - don’t need him. Have Trae. Boston Celtics - can’t afford him unless they’re sending us White or Brown. Brooklyn Nets - already have a short scoring combo guard. Charlotte Hornets - not unless they’re sending LaMelo. Chicago Bulls - I don’t see it but maybe? Cleveland Cavaliers - they’re already trying to dump one of their short scoring guards. Dallas Mavericks - maybe Denver Nuggets - don’t need him Detroit Pistons - don’t need him Golden State Warriors - don’t need him Houston Rockets - don’t need him Indiana Pacers - don’t need him Los Angeles Clippers - don’t need him Los Angeles Lakers - maybe? Memphis Grizzlies - I don’t see it unless they’re moving Ja Miami Heat - don’t need him Milwaukee Bucks - maybe? Minnesota Timberwolves - don’t need him New Orleans Pelicans - don’t need him New York Knicks - can’t afford him Oklahoma City Thunder - don’t need him Orlando Magic - off the table Philadelphia 76ers - don’t need him Phoenix Suns - don’t need him Portland Trail Blazers - sad Blazer noises Sacramento Kings - maybe? San Antonio Spurs - don’t need him Toronto Raptors - probably don’t need him? Utah Jazz - maybe? Washington Wizards - don’t need him
So here's a couple I'd want a couple picks. At least the LA pick. Here is what they're showing in Fanspo
Mavs make sense to me as an Ant destination. Highly doubt they give up that Lakers pick but maybe they give up a protected pick or a swap.
I sure hope not but who the fuck knows. It is really important to remember that the majority of the time that we kept the Dame/CJ bullshit going that Cronin was second in command in our front office. So yeah, I would love to say that I'm confident that a trade is more likely than an extension for Ant but unfortunately I can't.
It's funny: I think of Nique Clifford as this draft's Bane (all-round player, old for his draft) and he's mocked at #16 in a lot of places. If he ends up going to Memphis and putting up similar numbers to Bane (kind of like how KCP - Orlando's last "solution" at SG - didn't put up much better stats than his budget replacement in Denver)...
If Allen trust is going to have a timeline of the offer being accepted by the end of 2025 as some reports detailed you might be right. I had thought the process would take longer. But if its only 6 months the Blazers might just sit out most this summer, make a pick at #11, run it back for a new owner to decide. Disappointing that were aiming for year 3 of benching Scoot & Sharpe - whom Cronin had said the franchise was being built around. I guess I'd much prefer we run it back than we give Ant/Ayton huge extensions though.
It would seem that shorter ball-dominant shooting guards are not very much in demand. Thank you Neil for a decade of so many of them.
Yeah, the team is not going to stop making moves, especially if it means shedding a contract like Grant's. If they can, then they will.
