Alexander-Walker leads No. 12 Virginia Tech past Miami 82-70

Virginia Tech star guard Justin Robinson sat at the end of the bench with his left foot in a boot as the final seconds ticked off the clock, which tempered the Hokies' swagger following a resounding road win.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker tied a season high with 25 points and added a highlight-reel assist as No. 12 Virginia Tech shot 59 percent to beat Miami 82-70 on Wednesday night.

No. 3 Virginia clamps down again, beats Miami 56-46

Virginia was sloppy at times for the second game in a row. The way they play defense, the No. 3 Cavaliers have some room for error.

De'Andre Hunter scored 14 points, Mamadi Diakite had 11 points and three blocks, and the Cavaliers locked down on defense again to beat Miami 56-46 on Saturday. Kyle Guy added 10 points on just 4-for-15 shooting for the Cavaliers (20-1, 8-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), who played without point guard and third-leading scorer Ty Jeromebecause of a sore back.

    Williamson's 29 leads No. 2 Duke to 91-61 rout of St. John's

Zion Williamson stole the ball and soared for dunks. He blocked shots with authority. And once again, he scored points in bunches.

In other words, just a typical game for Duke's must-see freshman phenom.

Williamson scored 29 points in the second-ranked Blue Devils' 91-61 rout of St. John's on Saturday while creating the latest set of highlights for the most visible player on arguably the nation's most visible team.

No. 9 Tar Heels avenge loss, topping No. 15 Louisville 79-69

This time around, No. 9 North Carolina returned to form against No. 15 Louisville.

The Tar Heels controlled rebounding, the inside and just about everything else Saturday to show how far they have come since their previous meeting with the Cardinals.

Luke Maye had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Cameron Johnsonfinished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, helping North Carolina avenge a blowout loss with a 79-69 victory over Louisville.

No. 12 Virginia Tech beats No. 23 NC State 47-24

Miss after miss, they kept coming for No. 23 North Carolina State on Saturday.

Bricked jumpers off the front rim.

Drives that rolled around the cylinder and dropped away.

Shots that didn't hit anything at all.

They never stopped, either, not until the Wolfpack had managed a stunningly low point total that stood as the worst for any Atlantic Coast Conference school in the shot-clock era. N.C. State lost 47-24 to No. 12 Virginia Tech, a throwback output to the long-ago days when teams would hold the ball and turn games into stand-around slowdowns.

McMahon shoots No. 16 Cardinals past No. 11 Hokies, 72-64

Ryan McMahon knows No. 16 Louisville's offense is likely to change, and quickly, when he makes a 3-pointer.

    How quickly?

"The next possession," he said Monday night after scoring 12 points in a span of 83 seconds in the second half as the Cardinals used a 14-3 run to pull away and beat No. 11 Virginia Tech 72-64 on Monday night. "(Christen Cunningham) and (Dwayne Sutton), they do a great job just when I hit one they keep going back to me until the well is dry."

Reddish scores 24, No. 2 Duke pulls away to beat BC 80-55

No. 2 Duke has the highest-scoring duo in the country -- and if Cameron Reddish can stay hot, yet another effective scoring option.

Reddish scored 24 points, helping the Blue Devils pull away to beat Boston College 80-55 on Tuesday night.

Barrett, 3s lead No. 2 Duke past No. 3 Virginia, 81-71

RJ Barrett got it started, Zion Williamsonfilled in some gaps and Cam Reddish added a late flurry.

In No. 2 Duke's latest installment of Freshmen Gone Wild, all three -- and point guard Tre Jones -- had starring roles Saturday night as the Blue Devils used an early barrage of 3-pointers to stun No. 3 Virginia, and then held off the Cavaliers, 81-71, to sweep the season series.

Kabengele, Mann help Florida State edge Louisville in OT

Florida State didn't consistently make its free throws on Saturday in regulation. But in overtime, the Seminoles' success at the line was the reason why they won.

Mfiondu Kabengele scored 22 points and Terance Mann added 20 as No. 22 Florida State erased a 10-point second-half deficit to force overtime, where the Seminoles made 11 of 12 free-throw attempts to knock off No. 16 Louisville 80-75 on Saturday.

Mitchell leads Clemson to 59-51 win over No. 11 Hokies

Clemson coach Brad Brownell has seen plenty of teams with high expectations fall apart when adversity hits. He is proud that his Tigers are not among them.

Shelton Mitchell scored 22 points with a career-best five 3-pointers as Clemson won its fourth straight with a 59-51 victory over No. 11 Virginia Tech on Saturday.

No. 2 Duke overcomes 23-point deficit in second half to beat No. 16 Louisville

Looking tired and beaten while trailing Louisville by 23 points, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told his players they would win the game.

Whether he believed it or not didn't matter. The Blue Devils bought in and found their energy in the final 10 minutes to mount one of their biggest comebacks ever.

Cam Reddish made a tying 3-pointer with 1:28 left and the go-ahead free throws with 14 seconds remaining, helping the No. 2 Blue Devils overcome a second-half deficit to beat the No. 16 Cardinals 71-69 on Tuesday night.

Koumadje has double-double as No. 17 Florida St. routs Wake

    - Christ Koumadje hasn't had many chances to make an impact on games this season. But he used his long, 7-foot-4 frame to dominate Wake Forest for the best night of his college career.

Koumadje recorded his first career double-double, with a season-high 20 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, to help No. 17 Florida State rout Wake Forest 88-66 on Wednesday night.

Guy, Hunter lead No. 4 Virginia past Notre Dame, 60-54

Kyle Guy had scored 18 points against Notre Dame before he attempted his first free throw, which came with 24 seconds remaining and Virginia clinging to a slim lead.

Barrett has triple-double, No. 2 Duke beats NC State, 94-78

RJ Barrett always seems to do it all for No. 2 Duke. This time, it showed up on the stat sheet.

The freshman had the program's first triple-double in 13 years, finishing with 23 points, 11 rebounds and a season-high 10 assists in the Blue Devils' 94-78 victory over North Carolina State on Saturday night.
