Jones, No. 16 Louisville beat Wake Forest 77-65

No. 16 Louisville twice flirted with handing Wake Forest a lopsided loss only to squander leads. The good news for coach Chris Mack was the way the Cardinals responded each time.

Carlik Jones scored a season-high 23 points to help the Cardinals beat the Demon Deacons 77-65 on Wednesday night, extending their best start in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

No. 18 Virginia routs No. 12 Clemson to stay perfect in ACC

Virginia coach Tony Bennett thinks that his team has more to improve this season. But he believes his team's rout of No. 12 Clemson is a strong stride forward in that journey.

"It's one game," Bennett cautioned after the 18th-ranked Cavaliers won their 11th straight over the Tigers, 85-50 on Saturday night. "But we're taking steps in the right direction."

Radford helps No. 20 Virginia Tech beat Wake Forest 64-60

Virginia Tech kept turning the ball over, failing to secure loose rebounds and struggling to get offense from its two best scorers.

Tyrece Radford and the rest of the 20th-ranked Hokies' supporting cast provided enough of a boost to offset that, including with some steady late-game play that kept them near the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.

Radford scored 20 points and hit some clutch late free throws to help Virginia Tech hold off Wake Forest 64-60 on Sunday, earning the Hokies' third league win in the span of eight days.

Ga Tech routs No. 20 Clemson 83-65; 3 players score 20

Josh Pastner wondered how his Georgia Tech team would respond after a 17-day layoff.

    Not to worry.

The Yellow Jackets turned in one of their most impressive showings of the season, routing No. 20 Clemson 83-65 as three players scored more than 20 points Wednesday night.

Red-hot Florida State routs No. 20 Clemson 80-61

Florida State had two weeks to stew on a Dec. 29 loss at Clemson when they're season was interrupted by coronavirus protocols, and the Seminoles took the chance to re-evaluate and fine-tune.

They're certainly rolling now, winning four straight games — three of them by double figures.

Balsa Koprivica had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double and Florida State pulled away early and routed No. 20 Clemson 80-61 on Saturday.

Hauser, Huff lead No. 8 Virginia past Syracuse, 81-58

Sam Hauser had the hot hand early, and Jay Huff and Trey Murphy III joined in later.

No. 8 Virginia showed off its long-range shooting in an impressive show against Syracuse's vaunted zone defense.

Hauser hit seven of Virginia's 14 3-pointers, and the No. 8 Cavaliers cruised to an 81-58 victory against the Orange on Monday night. Murphy made four 3s, and even the 7-foot-1 Huff added one.

No. 20 Hokies rebound from road loss to top Notre Dame 62-51

Justyn Mutts knew No. 20 Virginia Tech would need to step up its game Wednesday night playing on the road at Notre Dame without suspended standout Tyrece Radford.

“Everyone on the team goes into every game trying to give it their all,” said the 6-foot-7 Mutts after his 14 points and 11 rebounds helped the Hokies beat cold-shooting Notre Dame 62-51 in an Atlantic Coast Conference game.
